Headlight question

I looking for some advise , My high beam is not working on my 06 rstd , low beam is fine . Two questions Im guessing no, but is this covered under 5yr warrentee ? and is it best to replace with stock light from Yamaha or is there a better light and where can I get it . thanks in advance for any advise

... it's covered. It's supposed to be bumper to bumper warranty, but I would upgrade to a Silverstar Ultra or other superior grade bulb. Lots more light.

Stock Yamaha Bulb is about $33. SKU: 2F9-84314-00-00

I would go to would go to Walmart and find a Sylvania Silver Star Ultra ( it is in the Golden brown package)

9003 is the same as a H4

I changed mine out just because I wanted a brighter headlight. I am very pleased. I think it was about $25

I would be surprised if it was covered under warranty. I would think it would be considered a wear item like tires, battery, clutch, etc.

 

+1 on the Silverstar. Better light, less expensive than Yamaha OEM, and easy to change.

 

Keep your old one in your tool bag for emergency replacement on the road.

Also, if you haven't already you may want to adjust the beam. Mine was shining in the tree tops, new off the floor. I also got the silverstar though.
