Looks like from the colors they are the same '99 color as what I have. The middle three pics are polished Aluminum. Don's is the fifth. He painted it to match his dash. Good job, too. I would really like to have them. I too would prefer a tach in the package but it is not vital. Pretty dumb when it comes to this stuff but if the instructions are good I will give it a try. It's really not that hard. I've been told the instructions are pretty clear. If after receiving the kit, you are unsure about it, you can call me with questions. All I find is the black ring, hate to buy both sets to swap rings. Personally the white facing would be too bright (night time riding) and take a way from the speedo, unless there is a dimmer switch on the gauges. I love these gauges and Ponch's plate and brackets are awsome. I love living in Texas, not only do we get to ride year around but we get to live near Ponch and V7Goose! Also, I use my mp3 and I sure don't want to screw up the plug-in. All of that said, put me in for a set; every time I look at the cassette I think of taking it out and just adding storage or something. Just unplug it from the cassette, get a short extension cable at radio shack, and run it out so that you can still use it. Size is 1 7/8 http://www.denniskirk.com/jsp/produc...fCatId=&mmyId= I have the Drag Specialties mini tach. Unfortunately, it measures about 2" at the O.D. of the bezel. That would work but it would overhang the top and bottom of the plate. Also, all three 1 1/2" gauges butt up against each other and just fit within the length of the mount plate. So, you would have a tough time fitting the tach in with two other gauges. June would work, the first half of September is still August to me. If I were headed south from Canuck land, I would choose early June, the end of September or October. This is about a three hour job by yourself, two with friends, eight with lots of friends. Googling shows me about a 1400 mile trip on the most direct route.....probably a 3 day ride for us. We'll see how the vacations get set up next year, and see what comes up. I don't think HF offers a volt meter, though. All I found was the amp/water/oil setup. I prefer that setup myself as I already have a digital volt meter. Ponch Posted October 4, 2009 Author Share #62 Posted October 4, 2009 They are very good gauges from what I hear. They mount with a ring nut instead of a "U" clamp that the SunPro uses. They will still work with the gauge plate, but the holes in the dash have to be opened a little more and the brackets have to be attached via sheet metal screws instead of mounting to the studs on the back of the SunPro's. I haven't installed the Equus setup yet, but Freebird and Rick Butler have and both said it wasn't hard to figure out. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The lighting on the white face gauges is not that bright. If it is, you can install a small resistor in the light circuit. My tach light is blue and BRIGHT. I will install a resistor in that circuit. My machine shop has stalled me for four weeks now, so I have been hand machining a few sets at a time to try to make a little progress. I will try to get a dozen or so done this weekend. Also, I have a water jet fabricator who will make them for me in the future. As soon as I get a little capital, I will place an order with him. I hope this doesn't put anyone off.
