Hi All of you! Thanks for the help with this skyscraper windshield! I have opted to call the folks at Clearview and talk to them. Mainly because I can get one already assembled with a vent in it for the hot Summer, and it can be tinted and custom fit, A gray tint will look cool on my midnight. When and if I get it, I hear it takes a couple months to obtain, if any of you want the stock one, it is free, just ask, the stock bike original shield would fit someone who is maybe six foot six? I am exactly six foot and it is 4 inches too high. When I take it off and lay it in the garage or store it in the shed........there it will be 20 years from now, someone might as well have some use for it, so I will throw it up for grabs when I obtain the new one.

Just so you know it might not take that long to get your windshield. Beer 30 ordered his Clearview last Wednesday and was told Friday I believe that it had shipped. So now might be the time to try and get one.

I got a stock one for free too if anyone wants it. I oudered the Short Cee-Bailey shield. Havent put it on yet but I already have a shorter one than stock on it for the winter. I wanted a real short one for the warmer months.

Hey if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, must be a sailor:rotf::rotf:. Just staying in touch and messing around. Hey I am working on trying to quiet down the gear whine some on these bikes, not going to wait till oil change time, going to change the oil today, take the bike for about a 250 mile ride this Saturday, going down to the bottom of Santee Lake, eat at the place on the canal.........thing is it is supposed to have isolated thunder showers.........do believe there is a hardware store in one or two of those little towns, think they sell hacksaws, might have to stop and saw a big V cut in the middle of this windshield. :stirthepot::stirthepot: Take Care

Just rec`d my clearview sheild today. Ordered a medium one tinted and vented.Fits great looks great. Makes my 07 midnight look like a bike should IMO. I`m 6' 5" and the top of the sheild is in perfect line with my nose. Seems not as much nosie with this one. Only 4 miles with it so far but seems to be just what I wanted. Great product. :080402gudl_prv::080402gudl_prv:

I think it all comes down to what folks order. Tinted, non-tinted, height, etc. They have some in stock but some of the tinted shields are what are taking extra time to get.

I ordered a tall with vent tinted in late April or early May and I am still waiting.

I would be getting my money back or get one hell of a discount somehow.

Have they not been in contact with you as to the delay? Especially a 6 month delay? Maybe the "DON' here needs to have a little chat with them considering they have a very high recommendation here. :whistling:

I ordered the tinted sheild and after a long wait for it I told them to send a clear , when the clear sheild arived it did not fit ,sent it back two weeks ago and have not heard from them. THAY WILL HEAR FROM ME TOMORROW.

I ordered the tall, tinted w\vent 11 weeks ago today. I sent them an email last week asking what the hold up was as my original order stated delivery in 8 weeks due to a problem with some defective tinting on some of their product. I received an email mine would be shipped the next day, I got the shipment confirmation and the tracking on it shows it is to be delivered tomorrow (10\08\07).......

They had best hurry it up! I am carrying a hack saw in the trunk now, just in case, that windshield like to buffeted me off the bike yesterday on the interstate......the only relief you get is when a big rig goes by..........figure that one??? Thing is so tall it cuts all the air flow off......wind coming over curls down just at the right spot and tries to lift my helmet off........i can lean forward about two inches and it will be calm.......I do not like to lean forward all the time like a hunchback, and no one calls me shorty....might call me something else....but not shorty!!

I noticed the buffeting also when riding by myself, which is not often.

So I think the extra weight helps :stirthepot:

I've never noticed buffeting like you're talking about with the stock shield. I'm 6' so maybe I'm just not as tall as you guys. I feel the turbulence with the bike but nothing knocking my head around by any means.

I found that I can just see over the windshield if I sit up totally straight so maybe I'm just longer from waist to head and it's not affecting me.

Hummmmmm: Maybe you do not have the recent stock shield. Yamaha does have two of them, just maybe they used a different shield on some of the older bikes. I am 5 foot 11 and 3/4 inches tall. If I get a hair cut I am 1/8th inch shorter:rotf::rotf:. I in no way can see over that thing, maybe sleeperhawk is right...the extra weight helps. I will have to tell my wife she has to go with me all the time till I get the new shield, need some ballast:stirthepot::stirthepot::stirthepot:. Kit
