I'm not asking what next. I'm afraid what next might be next. Guess drought is outta the question with all the rain we've had, flood maybe, famine don't think so. Pestilence might be a possibility. Who knows.

Oh Dan, David decided that after I gave him the readings on the meter. He's done this stuff before since he's a contractor.

I also think you should wait. If there is a short and thats what it sounds like changeing the box will not fix the problem. And if you do not know for sure what your doing you could get hurt. A good rule of thumb is reset the breaker or change fuse once and if it keeps popping find the problem. I've seen pictures of breakers after they have blown up. Not trying to scare you just don't want to see you get hurt. Wish I could help you more but it's a long commute from Houston.

Mini.

If you want me to help, the offer still stands. Anyone with enough experience to change out a fuse or breaker box will be able to trace down the problem and fix it before or during the change out. It might be that the buss link in the box got hot and grounded. Without out pulling the cover and inspecting it, no one can tell. The main thing is that you be careful and don't get yourself hurt.

You can run the 110 volt items that you NEED, on the circuit that is working properly. Just be careful not to over load it. You might unplug anything that is NOT VITAL to the operation of your house. That way you can run GOOD HEAVY extension cords to the things that you MUST have.

Good luck. If you need anything, my phone number is listed. Feel free to call.

Margaret I'm thinking if you change the box ( a Good update) you are not doing anything about what caused the problem to begin with. Something is wrong with one of those circuits. Wait for Steve.

growing up in my fathers contracting bussness I have done a lot of electrical work over the years, and I am in full agreement with Dan

I'm in full agreement with you Dan. It could be as simple as a buss bar or socket on the fuse box or it could be something with-in the circuit. Thats why I told her not to do anything else until someone get over there and looks at it. Troubleshooting over the phone / e-mail isn't gonna work.

I'm not touching the fuses anymore. I'm leaving it up to the experts now. Hope I'm not putting too much pressure on ya David. :whistling: He's gonna be my hero and rescue me from this dark place. And it does get dark around here at night. :)

Who's the one riding in on the shiny white steel horse? Muff's already entrusted her to your care! Better not let him down or he'll send some of his new Canadian buddies over to shave your head!

She SAYS you're good. You better be! Don't make me come down there next week and show you up! Honestly, hope it's an easy fix and you can get in and out.

Dan

BTW, I remember the LAST time you and Jeff went out to do some electrical work!

Nope taking the Big Blue VAN i'm not sure what it all looks like and jeff doesn't fix houses like he does bikes.

AsK Sledgehammer about that one that was one of the most screwed up houses I've ever seen. I guess that is what happens when JOE HOMEOWNER is too cheep to get it done right. the electrition he hired just ripped everything out and started from scratch.

I'm not even gonna wonnder what he gets if he's bad... :stickpoke: :stirthepot: :stirthepot: :stirthepot: :stirthepot:
