ctraylor Posted September 25, 2009 #1 Posted September 25, 2009 I bought the BMW and rode it about 120 miles today. I don't think I have ever rode a bike that was that smooth and it handled great. Please don't disown me I still have my Venture and will keep it. It is a 1999 K1200 LT with 15000 miles.
massey130 Posted September 25, 2009 #2 Posted September 25, 2009 No dis-owning around here. you just added a stable mate for the yammy.
Kross Kountry Posted September 25, 2009 #3 Posted September 25, 2009 I've heard others say that the BMW's fill top heavy. What do you think? I like the looks of the late model BMW.
utadventure Posted September 25, 2009 #4 Posted September 25, 2009 congrats on the new ride... now for the pics! Dave
sarges46 Posted September 25, 2009 #5 Posted September 25, 2009 If a guy could only afford the insurance for more bikes I would have several as well! Congrats.
hunter 1500 Posted September 25, 2009 #7 Posted September 25, 2009 Congrats on the new bike. 15k isn't many miles for a 99 BMW. Most those BMW guys ride that in a year.
Yama Mama Posted September 25, 2009 #9 Posted September 25, 2009 Yes we need photos. I am sure it is smooth. We are happy for you. Yama Mama:smile5:
Squidley Posted September 25, 2009 #10 Posted September 25, 2009 Good on Ya Curtis, and yes we need to see some pics
Dano Posted September 25, 2009 #11 Posted September 25, 2009 Yeah, nice bike, but did you make straight pipes for it yet???!!!!!
RandyR Posted September 25, 2009 #12 Posted September 25, 2009 Here's a pic of my ex-1997 K1100 with the quick detach bags and trunk off.. http://randyrick.us/motorcycles/BMW/K1100left.JPG Ah yes... it had a cassette player !!
mini-muffin Posted September 25, 2009 #13 Posted September 25, 2009 Well congrats, I won't bug you about the pics I think you got the point. Now as for getting disowned, most of you folks didn't read that fine print. Once a member on here always a member. We're like a cult just try and leave. Margaret
ctraylor Posted September 25, 2009 Author #14 Posted September 25, 2009 Yeah, nice bike, but did you make straight pipes for it yet???!!!!! No straight pipes for this one. I almost got a spanking by the Mrs. when I took the mufflers off the Venture. I bet it would sound good though. I'll try to get some pictures later but right now I am going for a ride....
MikeC Posted September 25, 2009 #15 Posted September 25, 2009 way to go Curtis! how are you going to rig the trailer on that thing? Something tells me you already have a plan... Your future neighbor...
ctraylor Posted September 25, 2009 Author #16 Posted September 25, 2009 way to go Curtis! how are you going to rig the trailer on that thing? Something tells me you already have a plan... Your future neighbor... Oh yeah I am already planning how I am going to hook up the trailer. Maybe a little more involved than the Venture but I'll get it done. I am getting ready for Bikes, Blues, and Barbeque in Fayetteville and am leaving in the morning. See yall on the road...
