Goofeychuck Posted September 23, 2009 Share #1 Posted September 23, 2009 Does anyone know where you can get a sheep skin cover for 2nd gen rsv.
Dave77459 Posted September 23, 2009 Share #2 Posted September 23, 2009 I bought a sheepskin at IKEA and trimmed to fit [my RSTD]. I must say that I am not entirely satisfied with it, as it modified my sitting position to push my crotch into the tank. Dave
mini-muffin Posted September 23, 2009 Share #3 Posted September 23, 2009 We bought one on ebay. It was a big enough piece that you could trim it to fit any seat. Margaret
Leadwolf56 Posted September 23, 2009 Share #4 Posted September 23, 2009 We have them on our 06. Two pieces, one for the driver seat and one for the passenger. I had a whole skin cover on my 87 and a semi custom fitted skin on my 90. We like them a lot. I got the ones for the 06 at Alaska Leather. Easy to deal with and very nice product. BOO Posted September 23, 2009 Share #6 Posted September 23, 2009 I have the Alaska ones. Love em. I have a large one but think I might have bought an XL one if I had of know how it fits and it could have shrunk from being wet a few times. But it's great. SaltyDawg Posted September 23, 2009 Share #8 Posted September 23, 2009 Another Alaska Leather recommendation from me. Great folks. Mention this site and you might get a 10% discount. I have had my sheepskin for 8 years and it's still like new. I have also bought their sheepskin insoles for winter riding and highly recommend them. Pick up a bottle of Anti-MonkeyButt powder too. Great for those long rides on hot days.
Snaggletooth Posted September 23, 2009 Share #9 Posted September 23, 2009 Give the folks at Hartco a call. I've got a fitted 3/4 shorn lambskin on my 1st gen and love it to death. http://www.hartcoseats.com/index.html Mike
BOO Posted September 24, 2009 Share #10 Posted September 24, 2009 Looks like he rides a RSV and I don't think Hartco makes anything for them unless I missed something. BOO
Snaggletooth Posted September 24, 2009 Share #11 Posted September 24, 2009 Take another look. When you open the site pop on the Yamaha Icon. Last time I talked to them they were still doing RSV and many other models.

spear Posted September 24, 2009 Share #18 Posted September 24, 2009 When I bought my 2nd gen it had front and rear sheep skin covers as well as one over the pillion back rest. Took them off cause I liked the comfort of the seats as they were, and do you think I can find I put them so I can put 'em back on? Damned if I can. (Hate that!!) Sailor Posted September 25, 2009 Share #19 Posted September 25, 2009 I got mine at the farm down the road. Saltspring is noted for its lamb. It is very good ( we supply the Queen of England) and different from any you get elsewhere but does lead to some ribbing. 1) Why do Saltspring sheep farmers wear rubber boots? 2) Why do Saltspring sheep farmers wear velcro chaps? 3) Why do Saltspring sheep farmers take their sheep up to cliff tops? 1) Well, you stick their hind feet into the boots and they can't run away. 2) The sheep stick to them. 3) At the edge of the cliff the sheep push back. sarges46 Posted September 25, 2009 Share #20 Posted September 25, 2009 A while back (at least 3 years now) I got mine from ebay for 14 bucks each. I bought two cause it was such a good deal.
