Whitlow Posted September 21, 2009 #1 Posted September 21, 2009 So who out there can help me find a pump to adjust the air in my shocks? I read somewhere that it needs to be a certain type to be able to add and remove the PSI Thanks
waterbug Posted September 21, 2009 #2 Posted September 21, 2009 go to your harley dealer they are cheaper there for a progressive pump than any were else believe it or not. They are about 40 or 45 bucks at the HD and the company that makes them are 10 or 15 more with out the HD on it.
davepa Posted September 21, 2009 #3 Posted September 21, 2009 (edited) You need the # 54630-03A from Harley. http://www.chicagoharley.com/shop/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=54630-03A&x=36&y=15 $37.56 Chicago HD offers a good discount often cheaper than ebay with the added shipping costs. Here is another discount dealer..https://www.zanottimotor.com/shopping/pLookUp.php $36.60 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Harley-Davidson-Touring-Suspension-Air-Pump-54630-03A_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem439a4530a3QQitemZ290351034531QQptZMotorcyclesQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories Ebay $ 44.95 free shipping there are always new ones listed on ebay (not used) as some dealers include the pump with a new bike purchase. Having owned a few HDs you have extras sitting on the shelf in the garage. Many end up on Ebay. hope this helps....Dave Edited September 21, 2009 by davepa
Flyinfool Posted September 22, 2009 #4 Posted September 22, 2009 I got my pump at a bicycle shop for $12. Have to wait till I get home to see what brand/model it is.
RedRider Posted September 22, 2009 #5 Posted September 22, 2009 The advantage of the Progressive Pump is that it is a zero let-off pump. Therefore, once you reach the desired pressure, it will not let air escape when you take the pump off. This is especially important with the front shocks since they hold so little air. The HD version is, indeed, less expensive. Who'd figger. RR
massey130 Posted September 22, 2009 #6 Posted September 22, 2009 i just bought one that i like and made a good deal. here is the link to the thread and the link to the product i bought. massey130 Posted September 22, 2009 #7 Posted September 22, 2009 oh, yea, it was 30 bucks with free shipping. dale in La.
massey130 Posted September 22, 2009 #8 Posted September 22, 2009 i listed the link for the progressive pump where i found it to be the cheapest. i will have to look for the link to the one i purchased. I did a google search to find the one i bought. mine has the 0 to 60 pound gauge. it reads in one pound increments and i found putting 4 pounds of air in the front was no problem. it has the zero loss feature and screws on & off. it is small & efficient.
hunter 1500 Posted September 23, 2009 #9 Posted September 23, 2009 Just ordered one from ebay for $22.99 plus $7 shipping.
Guest scarylarry Posted September 23, 2009 #10 Posted September 23, 2009 I bought a bell frame pump at wally world for 16.00 works good for me. Though I'm not real big fan of wally world..
