Dragonslayer Posted September 21, 2009 #1 Posted September 21, 2009 Trapped by the rain, no fooling. there is a creek and a bridge in the middle of my subdivision which is flooding which means we are trapped in the subdivision with no way out. And Spagetti junction is even flooded. World's largest expressway interchange I 85 & I 285.
Yammer Dan Posted September 21, 2009 #2 Posted September 21, 2009 Thunder Storms in our forcast for the next week. It was supposed to rain yesterday but I rode about 75 miles. Got sprinkled on a few times.
Motorcycle Mike Posted September 21, 2009 #3 Posted September 21, 2009 Bought a new bike. I should have bought a boat. I think the drought is officially over.
davecb Posted September 22, 2009 #4 Posted September 22, 2009 Saw today where parts of Atlanta got 15 to 20 inches of rain over the weekend. Thats worse than here. Been raining here for 10 days straight, and forecasted to rain through this weekend... This S___s... :bang head::bang head:
Sylvester Posted September 22, 2009 #6 Posted September 22, 2009 I feel for you guys, I live near Shelby, NC and we are wet but not getting anything like you. I even got three acres mowed yesterday and saw the sun for a brief while. Rain through Sunday here but chances are lower.
kenw Posted September 22, 2009 #7 Posted September 22, 2009 Had an 9" creek flowing through the back yard during the worst of it. Came close to the foudation, but thank you Jesus the house stayed dry! All the schools in the area and a lot of the roads in the area are still closed, but I fared better than a lot of the people out there. Things look a whole lot better today up here in Acworth.
Renne Posted September 22, 2009 #8 Posted September 22, 2009 Saw the nat'l news last night, did not know how serious it was there till we saw the coverage, our thoughts and prayers are with you all ! Renne

pick Posted September 22, 2009 #10 Posted September 22, 2009 Left the house at 7 this morning, got about 18 miles........................... in 2 1/2 hours, turned around and went hiome. I-20 was flooded at Sweetwater Creek and again at the Hootch where it flooded the Interstate and six Flags Over GA .
mini-muffin Posted September 22, 2009 #11 Posted September 22, 2009 I hope the rain stops sometime soon. Either you don't get any or you get way too much rain. Margaret
SteveW Posted September 22, 2009 #12 Posted September 22, 2009 Ok I'm asking for wood donations so I can start building an ARK. All who donate will have a place on it. LOL I don't believe it there is a bright shiny thing in the sky !!!! ( Maybe I can put the ARK on hold )
RandyR Posted September 22, 2009 #13 Posted September 22, 2009 Yep, sun is out now. I'm going to take the RSTD out for a short spin. However, weather report is for the rain to move back in later this afternoon and continue thru the weekend....
Venturous Randy Posted September 22, 2009 #14 Posted September 22, 2009 I went out a little before lunch to sunshine. I ended up taking my lunch to go home and get my bike. Had a nice ride back to work and hopefully a nice ride home. It seems like it has been a while since I have seen sunshine. RandyA

Dragonslayer Posted September 22, 2009 Author #16 Posted September 22, 2009 Is lake lanier full yet. GreggStill 6 feet below full pool I had heard on Monday. I think we're pumping it to Alabama and Florida as soon as it hits the lake.
Dragonslayer Posted September 22, 2009 Author #17 Posted September 22, 2009 Bought a new bike. I should have bought a boat. I think the drought is officially over. You betcha bye golly
Dragonslayer Posted September 22, 2009 Author #18 Posted September 22, 2009 Yea it was pretty nice today no rain the problem was that power went out during the gully washer yesterday about this time and they just got it restored a few minutes ago so we've been without power for 24 hours . I wonder how long it's gonna take them to get the cable back on. The creek is no longer flooding and is back down to close to normal. So, we are no longer physically stranded. I started off being physically stranded by the creek then Technically stranded by the loss of power. Now I'm intellecterally stranded with no TV. I'm not sure which is worse. I did however read a good John Grisham book over the past 24 hours.
mini-muffin Posted September 22, 2009 #19 Posted September 22, 2009 Still 6 feet below full pool I had heard on Monday. I think we're pumping it to Alabama and Florida as soon as it hits the lake. My mom use to wonder why when we would get lots and lots of rain it seemed most of it misses the reservoir. Hope the rain hits that and not any of you anymore. Margaret
footsie Posted September 23, 2009 #20 Posted September 23, 2009 I hope it improves this weekend, Iron butt ride from Newnan this sat. Gregg:missingtooth:
atlm Posted September 23, 2009 #21 Posted September 23, 2009 Monday the lake was 5.1 feet below full. Tuesday it was 3.5 feet. It rose over 19 inches in a day! http://lanier.uslakes.info/Level.asp We got to ride our RSV for the first time yesterday evening (since our test ride in the rain a week ago Sunday). The weather was beautiful.
kenw Posted September 23, 2009 #22 Posted September 23, 2009 Looks like the worst is over. Took a ride around ysterday and no more roads closed (at least in my area). The sun was shining and some people were even able to cut their lawns. It seems the water left as quick as it came! What a difference a day makes. Thanks everyone for your concerns!!
