Guest HdHtr Posted September 21, 2009 #1 Posted September 21, 2009 Last day of summer ... doesn't seem possible, where'd the time go?
Yama Mama Posted September 21, 2009 #2 Posted September 21, 2009 Times flies when your are riding, I guess. Fall is a beautiful time of year to ride too. Then of course, there is winter which last forever. Yuck. Yama Mama:beersign:
Squidley Posted September 21, 2009 #3 Posted September 21, 2009 It may be the last calendar day of summer, but here in Michigan it's been fall for a few weeks.....but I hear what your saying, time is a flying.
Snarley Bill Posted September 21, 2009 #4 Posted September 21, 2009 wait till you get old. the time really flies. they always told me that, and it is true.
skydoc_17 Posted September 21, 2009 #5 Posted September 21, 2009 Hey Steve, Maybe that grass in your front yard will finally STOP growing so fast! Of course you could always put a mower deck on the old VR and get your riding....and mowing done at the same time! Hang in there, spring is right around the corner! Earl and Jean
Venturous Randy Posted September 21, 2009 #6 Posted September 21, 2009 Hey Steve, Maybe that grass in your front yard will finally STOP growing so fast! Of course you could always put a mower deck on the old VR and get your riding....and mowing done at the same time! Hang in there, spring is right around the corner! Earl and Jean Last year I was mowing every two to three weeks. This year I need to mow at least once a week and sometimes more. Normally, September in Tennessee can be quite warm, but this year it is 3/4 over and seemed like fall weeks ago. Instead of the trees turning color though, I believe they are getting greener with all the rain. RandyA
Yammer Dan Posted September 21, 2009 #7 Posted September 21, 2009 Fall is the best time of the year!! Just Too SHORT!!
SilvrT Posted September 21, 2009 #8 Posted September 21, 2009 As for "summer" being over....it's just the date. Weather around here certainly doesn't recognize it... sunny and warm...might even break some records. All in all, this spring/summer/ and now fall has been one of the best I've experienced as far as weather goes for many, many years. It's been long overdue.
friesman Posted September 22, 2009 #9 Posted September 22, 2009 After the coldest winter, spring and summer in over 35 years we are now being treated to one of warmest Sept/s on record/ Sunday the temps were around 35C (95f) Iam loving the temps!!!! Brian:cool10:
Venturous Randy Posted September 22, 2009 #10 Posted September 22, 2009 Well, today at 5:18 EDT, it will officially be fall. It was about 70º this morning when I left for work, but it was raining as it has been for most of the last two weeks. I would love for it to be dry when I get off work so I could be riding when that moment arrives. In the last few years, this time of year makes me realize how I am getting in the Autumn days of my life. I will be 59 Friday and really can't believe it. Well, I can when I try to do some of the things I want to, but mentally, I still feel a lot younger. RandyA
Condor Posted September 22, 2009 #11 Posted September 22, 2009 Last day of summer ... doesn't seem possible, where'd the time go? It may be by the calendar, but Mama Nature isn't listening around here. High 90's for the last week. 97 yesterday. See what you're missin'.....
Evan Posted September 22, 2009 #12 Posted September 22, 2009 Interedsting posts from different areas. Here is Ontario, we have had one of the coldest and wettest summers on record up until the end of August. Since then, it has been much warmer and sunnier than normal. However, fall is definitely setting in and the colours are starting to emerge. Makes for some of the most dramatic riding of the season if the weather holds out, although this week is mostly rain.
