Sideoftheroad Posted September 19, 2009 #1 Posted September 19, 2009 What XM or Sirius model # do you have?
BuddyRich Posted September 19, 2009 #2 Posted September 19, 2009 GXM-30 for the Zumo and a DirectXM 2 for the Sat ready DVD player in my pickup. Prefer the Sat ready radios as everything goes up under the dash.
Mariner Fan Posted September 19, 2009 #3 Posted September 19, 2009 I have the GXM30 for the garmin 550. It's the puck just above my GPS. I have an Alpine radio in my truck that has XM radio as well. http://cdn.buzznet.com/assets/users16/marinerfan/default/ride-newport-kentucky-005--large-msg-124684070866.jpg
SaltyDawg Posted September 19, 2009 #4 Posted September 19, 2009 I also have the GXM-30 for the Zumo but and considering getting rid of it. I can get Sirrius XM on my iPhone for 7 bucks and although you don't get everything on the GXM it covers most of what I want. I see no need to pay the xtra anymore. I can't remember the last time I listened to the GXM. I imagine if I lived where cell reception wasn't so good I would stay with the GXM because it is a pretty good unit, but most of the area around me is 3G or ATT Edge and XM on my phone may drop out for a couple seconds every once and a while.
boominup Posted September 19, 2009 #5 Posted September 19, 2009 I have a stand alone "Skyfi III" on my 03 and that's the only music I listen to. I thought about getting a GPS with XM but I bought the bike to get lost, so I don'tneed any contraptions to find myself again. LOL! Brian
CMIKE Posted September 19, 2009 #6 Posted September 19, 2009 I use the XM Roady 2...One radio on the bike...in the car...in the truck...at work and in my shop/garage at home. It is always on...somewhere. listening to it now in the office. They do not make the Roady 2 anymore I do not think but they are cheap on ebay. For about $20 you can get the whole setup...sometimes brand new in the box.
bugfish69 Posted September 19, 2009 #7 Posted September 19, 2009 GXM 30 for zumo on bike. Roady xt everywhere else. Roady is a really nice unit and can be found for a good price.
SilvrT Posted September 20, 2009 #8 Posted September 20, 2009 I've got the Stratus 5 on mine. Comes with a "car kit" and has mounting brackets that hook into the dash vents...works great on the speaker grille...I just zap-tied it to ensure it didn't vibrate off. Works great!
Sideoftheroad Posted September 20, 2009 Author #9 Posted September 20, 2009 I also have the GXM-30 for the Zumo but considering getting rid of it. Let me know if you do, I might be interested in it. Been thinking about getting a Zumo lately and wife has been wanting satellite radio so... Thanks
