Thistledown Posted September 18, 2009 #1 Posted September 18, 2009 No, this is not an advertisement for Uni-go trailers. I bought one of these things last spring and I thougt I would pass on my observations. In short, I love it. Just returned from a six day trip with wife and full trailer, no baggage on the bike. Before we got the uni-go we would go on a trip with all the usual plus about 40 lbs of gear in the trunk and on the luggage rack, it was OK but, yes a little top heavy to say the least. I find that with all the luggage in the trailer the bike handles better, there is no noticeable handling differance with or with out the unigo and no top heavy bike. In short , although we can put all the luggage on the bike, I like hauling the trailer and an empty bike better. one just has to plan on where to park so you don't have to back up, otherwise you can't tell you are hauling it
Brake Pad Posted September 18, 2009 #2 Posted September 18, 2009 No, this is not an advertisement for the Matrix Rover trailers. I bought one of these things last spring and I thougt I would pass on my observations. In short, I love it. Just returned from a twelve day trip with wife and full trailer, no baggage on the bike except for a flat line soda cooler. Before we got the Matrix rover go we would go on a trip with all the usual plus about 50 lbs of gear in the trunk and on the luggage rack, it was OK but, yes a little top heavy to say the least. I find that with all the luggage in the trailer the bike handles better, there is no noticeable handling differance with or with out the matrix rover and no top heavy bike. In short , although we can put all the luggage on the bike, I like hauling the trailer and an empty bike better. one just has to plan on where to park so you don't have to back up, unless your like some of us, that can do it, and make it look easy...otherwise you can't tell you are hauling it. and the matching paint job, really sets the bike apart from other ventures Sorry
craigatcsi Posted September 18, 2009 #3 Posted September 18, 2009 I was worried about backing up with the trailer on my bike, but it ended up being just like backing my boat with the truck. Of course I have mamma helping as reverse. But, that being said, if I can park where I won't have to backup when leaving, I do - Just like when towing the boat with the truck. The only thing I had to really get used to on the bike was remembering that I was pulling a trailer, (Bushtec Roadmaster). On our first REAL trip with it, I finally gave up and adjusted my mirrors so I could just barely see the corners of it - just to remind me it was there! craigr
