Lost key to my 88 YVR

Hello Guys and Girls,

 

I need some help. I lost my key to my 88 YVR. I was told there is a key code on the ign switch and I heard the removal of the switch is quite a project. What I want to know is my rear luggage trunk is unlocked, can I remove the lock from that and have a key made? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I can't help except to say I think you got a big problem.

One of my boys had a 250 Yamaha some or the other and lost the key but there was a number on the switch and he was able to get a key from the Yamaha dealer but it took some time.

Don't think you will be so lucky with the Venture though.

john, i am fairly certain, that you can remove the luggage lock, take it to a locksmith, and have a duplicate key made, providing the same key ,locks and unlocks both.

on my '86, one key does it all.

Yes you should be able to take it to a locksmith and get one made
