FreezyRider Posted September 16, 2009 #1 Posted September 16, 2009 Yeah, this is pretty.....but I'd never fork over that much for a bike you can hardly find parts for anymore. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-Royale-Yahama-Venture-Royale-with-matching-trailor_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem1c0c7cb0f0QQitemZ120468582640QQptZUSQ5fmotorcycles#ht_500wt_1182
BOO Posted September 16, 2009 #2 Posted September 16, 2009 It sure is a nice one, seems to have a lot of accessories but not everything. There are still lots of parts around but I'm not sure I would pay that much for a bike that old. BOO
Thom Posted September 16, 2009 #3 Posted September 16, 2009 i think it has every chrome op. ever made for a 1g and it looks brad new but 8 grand
Dano Posted September 16, 2009 #4 Posted September 16, 2009 If he sells that for 8 g's, I'm putting mine up for 5!
Snarley Bill Posted September 16, 2009 #6 Posted September 16, 2009 if he is getting rid of it because he has no room, why will he take a car in trade.
Hummingbird Posted September 16, 2009 #7 Posted September 16, 2009 10 years ago MAYBE - he might as well build a shed to keep it in.
FreezyRider Posted September 16, 2009 Author #8 Posted September 16, 2009 if he is getting rid of it because he has no room, why will he take a car in trade. HA! Good catch there Bill!!! They gotta get up pretty early in the morning to sneak one past you, don't they?
LilBeaver Posted September 16, 2009 #9 Posted September 16, 2009 I didn't even pay that much for my 2nd gen... Including TTL and going to pick it up with an overnight in a hotel. I suppose if he leaves it up for long enough that eventually some sucker might come and give him near what he is asking...
eagleeye Posted September 16, 2009 #10 Posted September 16, 2009 I think that they call that "TROLLING" Steve
E-Fishin-C Posted September 16, 2009 #11 Posted September 16, 2009 IF it was a 1993 Than Id seriously think about it
cbmel Posted September 16, 2009 #12 Posted September 16, 2009 Don't forget - the trailer's worth something too.
RossKean Posted September 16, 2009 #14 Posted September 16, 2009 Less than 1600 miles per year!! Have to watch for cobwebs in the carbs!
dingy Posted September 16, 2009 #15 Posted September 16, 2009 Here are a few pictures showing my first Venture. An 84 Royale. Chrome turn signal covers, master cyl. rear pig, drive shaft housing, kickstand, center stand, levers, rear foot peg brackets, swing arm, side cover parts. Wish I still had this one.
a1bummer Posted September 16, 2009 #16 Posted September 16, 2009 I'd have to be making a hell of a lot more than I do now to even think about taking him seriously. BTW, When did eBay start doing classifieds?
dave_wells Posted September 16, 2009 #17 Posted September 16, 2009 Maybe the wife said he needs to sell But he wants to keep it
mini-muffin Posted September 16, 2009 #18 Posted September 16, 2009 Heck we didn't pay that for all the bikes we have together. Even with the matching trailer, that's way too much. Dave might be right he doesn't really want to sell. Margaret
BuckShot Posted September 16, 2009 #19 Posted September 16, 2009 I found the receipt for my 86 earlier this summer. I paid 8,000.00 new out the door. I have 35,000 original miles on it now (plus or minus) Comes with cargo trailer. I'll sell if I can get that kind of money for it. Anyone interested ? Just come pick it up when the wife is not here, see loves our bike. I'll hide out for a couple of weeks till she calms down and then deal with her.
minnmac Posted September 17, 2009 #20 Posted September 17, 2009 Don't forget - the trailer's worth something too. i guess he thinks its worth $4000
cbmel Posted September 17, 2009 #21 Posted September 17, 2009 i guess he thinks its worth $4000 No "he" doesn't. "He" does think those trailers are priced a heck of a lot higher than they should be, for what they are. And for the record, no, I don't think the setup is worth anywhere near $8k. Sheesh, some people.
bongobobny Posted September 17, 2009 #22 Posted September 17, 2009 Geee, Goldie only has 18K and I'd take 6K for both the bike and trailer...
yamadawg Posted September 17, 2009 #23 Posted September 17, 2009 Ditto on Dave W's suggestion. Priced that way he can probably keep it on the market for years. "But honey, I'm trying to sell it. Honest I am." Of course, he'll need to ride it regularly to keep it lubricated and working properly. :moped:Sounds like a plan...
cimmer Posted September 17, 2009 #24 Posted September 17, 2009 I was curious, what is the device under the crashbars in the last picture that looks like it run to something on where the chin spoiler would go. It appears to run down below the footboards. Rick F.
BradT Posted September 17, 2009 #25 Posted September 17, 2009 That is nice looking. Trailer looks sharp as well. Wonder what it looks like close up. Still would not want a 22/23 yr old bike. Brad
