Sideoftheroad Posted September 16, 2009 #1 Posted September 16, 2009 I like it. Thinking about getting one for next year. Just wish they would come out w/ some graphics on it like their other helmets besides solid colors EXO-900
craigatcsi Posted September 16, 2009 #2 Posted September 16, 2009 My wife and I got these - http://shopping.scorpionusa.com/C55D9C025BA44D11A3713BF0D546303C.asp?cat_id=FBF05AC4DB8843C1B0FF76893F5540D5&pcs_key=F4C6450651964872B858D79013AFA8B5&retpage=%2FF4BD78EED51D4762989F1184B1165B96%2Easp&nm=Solid+100&spath=&path=Home+%3E+Equipment+%3E+Street+Helmets&sc_id=D077582BA3E84A3DB6A8EF2E56B4E340 They match our Blue / Black 07 Venture. We like the Visor that hides inside the helmet. It keeps it from getting scratched when not used. craigr
RossKean Posted September 16, 2009 #3 Posted September 16, 2009 I considered one of the Scorpion helmets but hated the look of their stylized "S" logo on the front of all of their helmets. I also liked the hideaway visor on the half-helmet.
craigatcsi Posted September 16, 2009 #4 Posted September 16, 2009 I haven't tried it yet, but I am hoping that the 'S' is just double sided tape and can be removed. I guess I could Contact Scorpion and ask. craigr
RossKean Posted September 16, 2009 #5 Posted September 16, 2009 Let us know if it can be removed. I might get the Scorpion if it can be "debadged".
lonestarmedic Posted September 17, 2009 #6 Posted September 17, 2009 Our Exo 200 helmets seem to be pinned in at 2 points on the "S". Thinking 2 small holes for through mounts. JB
Sideoftheroad Posted September 17, 2009 Author #7 Posted September 17, 2009 I currently have the EXO-700 Silver Burst. Still shows in their catalog, but not on their web-site that I could find. Pretty good helmet IMO. I have the tinted face shield. It was already on the helmet when I bought it from the dealer so I got it for free and he gave me a new in the bag clear shield. Only issue I have is the tinted shield does fog when I am going at slow speeds or at a stop light. Going the speed limit, no problems. It does get worse the colder the temp. I pretty much don't use the clear shield so not sure about it. Just seems like there isn't enough ventilation up front by your mouth to keep it clear so I constantly have to lift the face shield to clear the fogging. Another thing is I think the 1st position when you lift the face shield is too high. If they put in another position between fully closed and the 1st position would be ideal to me.
craigatcsi Posted September 17, 2009 #8 Posted September 17, 2009 Can you use Plexas or something similar to get away from the fogging? I remember when I used to ride back and forth to work 365, winter being cold and snowy, I used to have problems with my full face helmet fogging up when slow to stopped. I found something to put on the inside of the shield and it kept it clear. But for the life of my I can't remember what it was - (20 years ago). I have to believe they make something for this nowadays. craigr
ArticusMedicus Posted September 18, 2009 #9 Posted September 18, 2009 As soon as I can:mo money: I will be an owner of the 900. I am going to buy one for me and one for the wife. I love the fact that you can remove the modular part and stick it in the bags. Get cold on you, throw it back on.
Sideoftheroad Posted September 18, 2009 Author #10 Posted September 18, 2009 I have e-mailed Scorpion a couple times now in regards to the 900. If you look again, they also have a snow version. If you already have the 900 you can buy a kit to convert it for snow. The face shield is electric. It will be similar to this which is for my 700 Snow Kit Here's the 900 snow version If you look at the accessories, you can definetly drop some $$$ on these helmets.
Sideoftheroad Posted September 18, 2009 Author #11 Posted September 18, 2009 I found something to put on the inside of the shield and it kept it clear. But for the life of my I can't remember what it was If you think of it or if anyone else does something to eliminate the fogging, let me know.
ronhenry4 Posted September 18, 2009 #12 Posted September 18, 2009 I like it. Thinking about getting one for next year. Just wish they would come out w/ some graphics on it like their other helmets besides solid colors EXO-900 I bought 2 of them love it head set hooks in and love the hide-away visior got mine from JPcycles(im a gold club member)saved a few bucks on them.
Sideoftheroad Posted November 11, 2009 Author #13 Posted November 11, 2009 I wanted to revive the post a bit. I e-mailed scorpion about the condensation issue. They said they redesigned the plate that has an extra notch on it. The extra notch will allow you to slightly open the helmet to let the condensation escape. As it is now, the 1st notch opens it up to where alot of cold air comes into the helmet. They are sending me new plates for free. That's awesome.
SteveW Posted November 11, 2009 #14 Posted November 11, 2009 I have used anti-fog on my face shields in the past and it works great. You can find it at any dive shop for face masks.
