Goofeychuck Posted September 15, 2009 #1 Posted September 15, 2009 is their anyone in Indiana that can teach me how to sync carbs?
Leadwolf56 Posted September 15, 2009 #2 Posted September 15, 2009 You might check with Bummer, if he doesn't then he would probably know someone close by that does.
Squidley Posted September 16, 2009 #3 Posted September 16, 2009 Come up to Kevins (Leadwolf56) M&E on Saturday and I know someone will have a carbtune with them, you can do it right in the parking lot
waterbug Posted September 16, 2009 #4 Posted September 16, 2009 I need to learn to do that myself!! I have the tuner just havent sat down and seen what I have to do yet. Good luck!!
Sideoftheroad Posted September 16, 2009 #5 Posted September 16, 2009 I would say Bummer or check w/ Eric w/ the 144 group. I know he has sync'd Venture carbs before. I am sure either one will be more than happy to show you how to do it. Let me know if you find someone. I would like to learn too. Heck I am sure even Chuck or Kevin would show you too.
Leadwolf56 Posted September 16, 2009 #7 Posted September 16, 2009 Where is Spiceland? East of Indy off of 70.
Dano Posted September 16, 2009 #8 Posted September 16, 2009 Both of you guys need to head down/over to the house next weekend and I'll show ya how to do it. Squid only had to correct me once down at the rally when I forgot to tweak the idle first. THAT'll only happen once!
ScottXD45 Posted September 16, 2009 #9 Posted September 16, 2009 We should organize some sort of carb sync party for us Indiana folks. Bummer helped me with mine but I wouldn't mind watching again.
Bummer Posted September 16, 2009 #10 Posted September 16, 2009 I guess I'll just carry my carb tune and its stuff around in the side bag for a while. Sounds like it'll come in handy. I expect to be up at Leadwolf's the 19th and Freezy's the first weekend of October. I'm on the west side of Indy just off of 10th and 465 most of the rest of the time. Even if we don't have a full Maintenance Day, I'm pretty sure I can at least squeeze in a Tinker Ten Minutes as needed.
Guest tx2sturgis Posted September 16, 2009 #11 Posted September 16, 2009 We should organize some sort of carb sync party for us Indiana folks. Bummer helped me with mine but I wouldn't mind watching again. If you guys do that please consider recording it. I can find lots of CarbTune videos on YouTube, but none of the ones I looked at had a Venture as the Star...( no pun intended!)
gunboat Posted September 16, 2009 #12 Posted September 16, 2009 well brian it's time to change that. i have a old sony 8mm movie camcorder i haven't used in years. don't even know lf the battery will hold a charge. O i forgot it will also use 100 volt a/c. but in this day & age i don't fill that's a good option. sort of like our cassett player on the venture. any one else got a idea? just my don c.
ScottXD45 Posted September 16, 2009 #13 Posted September 16, 2009 My cell phone takes video. I don't know if it would record long enough to get a whole carb sync though.
Goofeychuck Posted September 16, 2009 Author #14 Posted September 16, 2009 Saturday Morning would be great where and when please?
Bummer Posted September 17, 2009 #15 Posted September 17, 2009 This Saturday morning, Niles, Michigan. Leadwolf's having a Meet & Eat. Next Saturday morning I'll be at 10th and 465 on the west side of Indy. While you're certainly welcome to drop by, Dano's on the south east side of Indy. He'd be a good deal closer for you, if he's free. The Saturday morning after that, Corydon. FreezyRider's having a Meet & Eat.
