Art708 Posted September 15, 2009 #1 Posted September 15, 2009 It looks like I have a coolant leak around the #2 cylinder head gasket. So should I take it to the dealer or should I try to torque the head bolts myself?
1BigDog Posted September 15, 2009 #2 Posted September 15, 2009 Its under warranty..let the dealer sort it out.
Kregerdoodle Posted September 15, 2009 #3 Posted September 15, 2009 what ruffy said.....let the dealer mess with it, why take a chance of voiding the warranty if you screw somthing up....not that you would, but they would say you did...
Art708 Posted September 16, 2009 Author #4 Posted September 16, 2009 That was my first thought, let the warranty take care of it.

V7Goose Posted September 16, 2009 #6 Posted September 16, 2009 There was a recall for early 07 motors for that exact problem. Take it in. Goose
M61A1MECH Posted September 16, 2009 #7 Posted September 16, 2009 There is a service bulletin out on the 07's, some of them did not get the head bolts torqued correctly. The dealer can tell if your's is one of the affected ones by the VIN. Either way, it is still under warrenty, make the dealer take care of it, way to much at risk if you do it and it all goes wrong, because they will not cover it if it looks like you goofed it up.
Art708 Posted September 16, 2009 Author #8 Posted September 16, 2009 A recall...even better. Thanks guys....'preciate it.
M61A1MECH Posted September 16, 2009 #9 Posted September 16, 2009 It is NOT a recall, it is a service bulletin, make sure you ask for it as a service bulletin. Someone around this web site has a copy of the service bulletin, I think I have a copy on my desktop computer, but it is packed away for at least another month while the house is being remolded, so I can not get to it.
