Marcarl Posted September 14, 2009 #1 Posted September 14, 2009 Look what I found in my driveway last night when I got home. I'll let you guess the year. Really nice shape, maybe it's a gift,,,,, but I can't find the keys. Buddy thinks it's alright as well.
Brake Pad Posted September 14, 2009 #2 Posted September 14, 2009 Man.... Do I know how to work on those..... Ayh, the memories...
LilBeaver Posted September 14, 2009 #3 Posted September 14, 2009 Very Nice! I'm guessing 1976. P.S. I hope it is going to be more than a cat scratcher!
Evan Posted September 14, 2009 #7 Posted September 14, 2009 Carl - I don't know the exact year but it looks to be in great condition for its age. Also, I bet a few rides help remind you of how great the VR is on the highway (and how heavy it is to move around). I found the difference betwean my old PC800 and my 88VR much greater than expected.
KiteSquid Posted September 14, 2009 #8 Posted September 14, 2009 Nice bike, and it looks like you cat likes it too!!!!!
SilvrT Posted September 14, 2009 #9 Posted September 14, 2009 nice bike but since when does a cat require a key??? 1972 bike
YamaDuck Posted September 14, 2009 #10 Posted September 14, 2009 nice bike but since when does a cat require a key??? 1972 bike I'd be real careful inserting the key when you find it. Boy when you do insert the key I'll bet it will fly. Oh and the bikes nice also. 1978?
elmicko Posted September 14, 2009 #11 Posted September 14, 2009 I used to have a CB350Four that looked exactly like that one except mine was red. I'm going to guess 1972, that's the year for mine. Very sharp bike for the age. Not so much for the cat.
massey130 Posted September 14, 2009 #12 Posted September 14, 2009 I had a cb360. took it many places that it took me. memories - yea. good ones at that. moved up to a Kawa 1100 Ninja from there. I'd say somewhere in the 70's as well. dale in La
massey130 Posted September 14, 2009 #13 Posted September 14, 2009 If you come to have the title & keys, what a great way to run to the store with a back pack & short list. what - 60 miles to the gallon?

The engine was a 498cc DOHC parallel twin with dual CV carburetors. The transmission was a 5-speed. While not receiving much praise from critics and riders alike, Cycle World took note of its comfortable and roomy seat in its 1975 test, writing, "Unusual in that it is brown in color, it is long enough to carry a briefcase or passenger without crowding the rider. And the padding is soft enough for comfort. Believe us, without this seat you couldn’t ride a 500T very far and get off smiling."[1] [edit] Specifications [ame=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_overhead_cam]Double overhead cam[/ame] vertical twin with torsion bar valve springs. DragonRider Posted September 14, 2009 #18 Posted September 14, 2009 1975 Honda CB500T............Dual overhead cams. Used to be the CB450 till Honda upped the cc's.
MiCarl Posted September 14, 2009 #19 Posted September 14, 2009 Carl, Sorry you didn't get a key with the new cat. All years of cat look the same to me so I'm no help there. Until I get there to pick it up please ask the cat to refrain from scratching on my motorcycle.
Yama Mama Posted September 15, 2009 #21 Posted September 15, 2009 That was similar to our #2 bike, but we had a 1971. It just ran, we changed the oil and checked the brakes. She was a good ole bike. I thought it was so big compared to our 350 at the time. But it sure looks small now. Yama Mama
1sttenor Posted September 15, 2009 #22 Posted September 15, 2009 I had a 76, but it was a different color, so I'll go with 77. By the time I sold mine you could hardly see the speedo due to the plastic color turning milky white. Back then I had no garage.
