I'm trying to set a date for the annual Freebird's Maintenance Day. First week of June is out because I have a company trade show that weekend. I'm looking now at the last weekend of May. That would be the weekend of the 29th. That is also Memorial Day weekend though. That works fine for me but maybe not for many of you who would like to attend. So I need your feedback. How many of you have a problem with it being on Memorial Day weekend?

I would really like to attend but being Memorial Day and me being in Minnesota it would make it impossible.

I am thinking of the mass amouts of traffic and distance. Yes I realize the distance won't change but I really can't deal with all the extra traffic especially around Chicago. Hey but I am only one little country heard from.

Mid June would work. :2cents:

Last year's first date was the weekend of graduation. Guess we'd have to check the local college website. I should get there no matter what weekend you pick. I don't seem to really have any plans at the moment.:whistling:

There are a lot of family activities around Memorial Weekend, considering that is the first major holiday in 5 months from New Years. How about earlier in May?

from the Oberlin College web page.

Commencement weekend starts Friday May 28 and ends Monday may 31.

There's plenty of room for more tents... :cool10:

I just checked the colleges website that seems to be commencement weekend. They graduate that monday but they seem to practice all weekend. You'd think going to college would make them smart enough not to need so many practices.:crackup:Sorry thought that was kinda funny.

If you keep it that weekend we'll have to get reservations going fast like last year, unless you decide to change the date?:whistling:Hopefully before we all make reservations.:crackup::crackup::crackup:

Yea, I'm going to have to pick another weekend. I hate to admit it but that Mini Mouse..uh....I mean Muffin is right. I just checked the Oberlin College site and that is indeed graduation weekend. :(

I'll get back to all of you with another date.

How about the second weekend in June?

I do not get out of school until June 8th this school year. That makes it harder for us to come up on Friday, but we will be there either way. I am really good at setting tents up in the dark. This coming year though we will put our tent up closer to everyone else. We changed deodorants. Hehehehehe

Well the Memorial day weekend is one weekend after our Victoria Day weekend. Now in the past,, for as long as the past has been, there has been a Meet & Greet, now called a Venture In, at Marcarl's the weekend after the Victoria Day weekend, so that would explain why I felt such pain, when I started reading this thread. When I go it all figured I realized I might not even be in attendance at Marcarl's Venture In.............but that seems to be changing now, so maybe I'l get to be at both.

2nd weekend in June looks good to me as well. Usually June is fairly dry. It gives us a small break between Marcarls Venture Inn and MD.. I can then to both..
