YAMAHA-MATT Posted September 13, 2009 #1 Posted September 13, 2009 i have a full bub exhaust on my 05 rstd and was wondering if the so called removable baffles are easy to get out. matt
eusa1 Posted September 13, 2009 #2 Posted September 13, 2009 Matt, the baffle is not hard to get out if you know the trick, and have access to a dead blow hammer, a drill and some replacement pop rivets. mike royalstarventure03@yahoo.com
Iceman Posted September 13, 2009 #3 Posted September 13, 2009 I have full bub exhaust on my 98 rs , they was too too quiet. I drilled out the (2) pop rivets, twisted the exhaust tips back & forth until the whole baffle unit comes out. These slip-ons are baffle from one end to the other. I shortened mine a little at a time, replacing it with a straight pipe, until the baffle was gone. Bike sounds pretty good. Also these pipes come with insulation. Hope this helps.
yamahamer Posted September 16, 2009 #4 Posted September 16, 2009 I pulled mine out........for 1 day! WOW it's wicked loud with no baffle.
SilvrT Posted September 16, 2009 #5 Posted September 16, 2009 Curious to know what advantage it is having a full Bub exhaust ... anyone?
yamahamer Posted September 16, 2009 #6 Posted September 16, 2009 Curious to know what advantage it is having a full Bub exhaust ... anyone? Biger headers! But with the full kit you have to rejet.
SilvrT Posted September 16, 2009 #7 Posted September 16, 2009 Biger headers! But with the full kit you have to rejet. That's it... bigger headers? What advantage is that? (other than appearance)?
yamahamer Posted September 16, 2009 #8 Posted September 16, 2009 Just more bottom end power and blue headers over time.
Iceman Posted September 17, 2009 #9 Posted September 17, 2009 Another advantage is, fewer parts, joints, gaskets, etc. which means, no leaks.
Bigfoot Posted September 17, 2009 #10 Posted September 17, 2009 i have a full bub exhaust on my 05 rstd and was wondering if the so called removable baffles are easy to get out. matt Just curious. Why would you want to do that? Aren't you concerned about how loud it will be? We certainly don't need to join the growing sentiments against the Harley crowd.
yamahamer Posted September 17, 2009 #11 Posted September 17, 2009 It sounds better than any Harley! More like a NHRA drag car!

We certainly don't need to join the growing sentiments against the Harley crowd. because i like loud pipes. not because they save lifes. or any thing like that. i have reinhearts (sp) on my road star that will set off car alarms. nothing against anyones own thoughts. all i have to say is all these people that complain about loud pieps are just contributing to the pussifacation of america. back in the hot rod days and true chopper days there was knowone who complained about loud exhaust.(except for people that wore plad pants) now americans are such vag's that we complain about every little thing. and like they say in rock n roll if its to loud you are to:grandpa: just my:2cents:
YAMAHA-MATT Posted September 18, 2009 Author #13 Posted September 18, 2009 Just more bottom end power and blue headers over time. bingo. right on. the bub headers do have a heat shield though so i dont expect much blueing.
