fork seals

is it possible to replace the fork seals on a 88 venture royale by removing the lower part of the fork or do i need to remove the whole fork and use special tools to get it appart.

There was a post a while back from a guy who did just that and photographed the entire process. I cant remember who it was but perhaps one of us with more surviving grey cells can remember. Did you try to put the words fork seals in the search box?

It has been a while since i did mine; but the good news is that i did it all with the tubes still attatched to the bike. The bottoms were fairly easy to remove, you need the manual or at least a good parts break down to see how they come apart.
