gershum Posted September 7, 2009 #1 Posted September 7, 2009 Has anyone noticed that the bars on the 2nd ger venture are not very strong? They seem they will not protect the front area of the bike.\, only bend in on a very low speed drop. (like falling over)
BuddyRich Posted September 7, 2009 #2 Posted September 7, 2009 You can push them back. I saw somewhere where theywere reinforcing them on the bottom. The "crash bars" were never designed for a moving crash. They are only there to keep the bike somewhat upright should you drop it while standing still.
Hulk Posted September 8, 2009 #3 Posted September 8, 2009 this si the thread, [ame=http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=8054]Crash bar supports - VentureRider.Org[/ame] Brilliant idea that works well!
Confused Posted September 8, 2009 #4 Posted September 8, 2009 I've had to lay mine once when trying to stop on gravel. Came to a sliding stop on the bars with only scratches on the bars and the bike never touched the ground. After we stopped, the bike was on the bars and both tires on the ground. So they seem to hold up ok in a minor laydown.
