rdhc Posted September 3, 2009 #1 Posted September 3, 2009 I am going to purchase a Ram Mount for my 2006 RSTD. Does anyone know if the Cycle Handle Bar Base (RAM-B-309-1U ) will fit the RSTD? It attaches to the brake/clutch handlebar control bracket . http://www.ram-mount.com/CatalogResults/PartDetails/tabid/63/partid/082065077045066045051048057045049085/Default.aspx
frogmaster Posted September 3, 2009 #2 Posted September 3, 2009 When i had questions I used the (Support Center) link on web page got a phone number and THEY WERE GREAT they had all the OEM Manuals and REALLY KNEW THEIR STUFF
Dave77459 Posted September 3, 2009 #3 Posted September 3, 2009 I use this one on my RSTD: RAM-B-149Z-GA12U I like that it is inward and protected by the windshield. When I asked in another group, someone recommended the mirror mount. A photo is attached. I am sorry this doesn't quite answer your question, but it might give you some ideas. Dave
sarges46 Posted September 3, 2009 #4 Posted September 3, 2009 I dont know....but reading the description from RAM it says its for the "Goldwing and many other bikes". Myself I've got the handlebar mount.
rdhc Posted September 3, 2009 Author #5 Posted September 3, 2009 I sent an email to Ram support center. Their answer: Good Day, We actually suggest the u-bolt base for your bike but there is a chance the RAM-B-309-1U would work. Unfortunately I am unable to find any pictures of the handlebar set up for your bike so I have attached the drawing for the base as well as the instructions. I would check the measurement between the two bolts holding the break or clutch clamp to your handlebars. Hope this helps. Brian Anderson National Products, Inc. 8410 Dallas Ave. S. Stoutman Posted September 3, 2009 #6 Posted September 3, 2009 I use the u-bolt mount on my RSTD. It works well. It moves the accessory closer to the middle of the wind screen, and keeps the it out of the windstream. Also, the power cord is closer to the center of the dash. The only down side I see it the cosmetics. There's nothing worse than an ugly accessory on your bike if you don't like the looks. Let us know how that other mount works out. I didn't try it because I have accessory switches on top of my resevoir. The mirror mount is also out for me because I have clear hand guards to keep the wind and rocks off my hands.
