Just a quick note to our American friends to let you know that this isnt happenning everywhere in Canada, it seems to be only in British Columbia (the WET..errr west......i mean dry Coast this year). There are another 9 provinces with better (or maybe worse...lol) laws in canada, but please dont paint us Canadians all with the same brush.:smile5:

Ah - the land of the free (or close by!)

If you come Down-Under to ride, the freedom is restricted only by the sign-posted speed limits.

None of the crap you BCers are putting up with.

Sheesh - and to think British law once prevailed there.

I hope you or your son fights this "tooth and nail". I'd sure like to know when this "restriction" came into effect.

The 200 CC restriction was after I got my class 6 in the mid 80's, I think it came in to effect during later portion of the 90's. I will need to check into this futher, as I also had a CM 200 twinstar to start with. It was equipped with passenger pegs on it & I carried passengers on it all those years ago, in downtown Victoria & Esquimalt.

Kerry, but what class does your sons licence show on it, there should have #5 #6 on it. If there has been no #6 on it for years, then it is start from scratch for the class 6. A friend has been going though that.

I just got off the phone with ICBC and according to the operator, the restriction came into effect 1987. Anything prior to that was grandfathered.
