Guest CONFEDERATE RIDER Posted September 22, 2007 #1 Posted September 22, 2007 Started the bike up today for the first time in about two weeks, would not run without choke on. Check the air filters, changed the plugs still no help. Runs like on two cylinders. Anyone had this problem???? Any help is appreciated. Brent
SaltyDawg Posted September 22, 2007 #2 Posted September 22, 2007 I would pull the plug wires and confirm if in fact it was running down on cylinders. Could also be debris in the carbs. How much gas was in the tank when you parked it? Were the nights cool? If the tank is not full and the nights get cool condensation can form inside the tank and then get sucked into the carbs. I have actually had this happen on a motorcycle. Not my RSV but one I had many years ago.
Guest CONFEDERATE RIDER Posted September 22, 2007 #3 Posted September 22, 2007 I have less than a 100 mile on the tank of fuel. I'm in Alabama so no the nights have not been below high 60's.
GeorgeS Posted September 22, 2007 #4 Posted September 22, 2007 Maby, you got a load of water in your last fill up !! Try about 1/4 can of HEET, if water in gas that will clear it up. Open Carb Bowl drains, ( all four ) and let fuel pump run gas thru them. ( but do it outside, and have water hose at the ready ) You might also, do a complete tank drain, might be crud in tank. Fuel filter may need replacement. Double check your plug caps, might not be on tight.
