footsie Posted August 31, 2009 #1 Posted August 31, 2009 Guys don't try the classic radial, the bead breaks before the tire will seat, I blew one at 85 lbs, and another biker trying to mount one on a magna rear wheel said his blew at 85 lbs. That make the third one that the bead broke. Gregg
gunboat Posted August 31, 2009 #2 Posted August 31, 2009 classic who / have i've missed something? which tire? don c.
Hummingbird Posted August 31, 2009 #3 Posted August 31, 2009 To be honest - I don't believe I'll try any other tire since I put the Kumho on that I got from gunboat. I'm totally happy with it.
Condor Posted August 31, 2009 #4 Posted August 31, 2009 classic who / have i've missed something? which tire? don c. The CHENG SHIN MAXXIS C6011 CLASSIC is the tire that pops up when doing a search. There could be other brands using the term 'classic', but this is the one most likely.
gunboat Posted August 31, 2009 #5 Posted August 31, 2009 thanks jack i thought i had missed something. sounds like a tire not worth missing with. best reguards don c.
footsie Posted September 1, 2009 Author #6 Posted September 1, 2009 I really don't know the tire only had classic written on it, the local dealer I bought from said he thought it was built by cooper tire for another company, built to the other companies specs. Had a great looking tread but like I said I personelly know of three that the bead broke before the tire would seat. But it was not a MAXXIS MC tire, it was a ct radial. If says classic on the side I would avoid it, I just did the post so maybe noone else would try, my dealer ate the cost even after I offered to pay anyway, but most would not because of the application.
