kantornado Posted August 31, 2009 #2 Posted August 31, 2009 I use Pennzoil Gearplus 80W-90 GL-5 and you pick the brand of your choice as long as it has GL5 on the can or bottle.............Ron
skydoc_17 Posted August 31, 2009 #3 Posted August 31, 2009 I run the Belray 80W-90 GL-5 in my 87'VR and it has served me well. I run it in all the bikes I service (unless someone requests something different), never a problem. It's one of those personal choice things. Earl
latchkey Posted August 31, 2009 Author #4 Posted August 31, 2009 thanks for your replys. i guess the gl5 is something of a must? will look for that.
gunboat Posted August 31, 2009 #5 Posted August 31, 2009 i've been using royal purple max-gear 75w90. meets the requirments of both gl-4 & 5. don c.
KiteSquid Posted September 1, 2009 #7 Posted September 1, 2009 Something that is 100% Synthetic GL-5 and I put a pea sized ball of Honda Moly 60 grease in with it. Oh, and I change the gear lube every time I chnage the engine oil..... I have it on the jack, I might as well change the gear lube......
