jonsmyth Posted August 29, 2009 #1 Posted August 29, 2009 My throttle cable broke going to town to get brake supplies, and I had to set the idle to 3 grand and then nurse it home- TRICKY! Does anyone know a good source for stock cables? Can you repair old ones, or is it worth it? You'd need a huge crimper tool, I'm sure! So for now, brake problems don't matter cause scooter wont go!
RedRider Posted August 29, 2009 #2 Posted August 29, 2009 Just buy a new one from the stealer. They're not too expensive. RR
Dano Posted August 29, 2009 #3 Posted August 29, 2009 Order them thru www.partshark.com (formerly Flatout Motorsports). Even with trhe shipping included, you're still cheaper than buying them over the counter, and they'll have to order them too. You should replace all 4 of them if you're going to do it, 2 uppers and 2 lowers. You may not have to pull the left fairing off (only if you have cruise control) to get to the "slider" that connects the lowers to the uppers. Yamaha's way of making everything difficult for us! Dan
