kyle Posted August 26, 2009 Share #1 Posted August 26, 2009 i know more oil controversy. here it goes, i normally use amsoil 20-50 having trouble getting it locally. i did find amsoil diesel syn 15-40 , i was ready to use rotella syn 15-40 but can't find that either... "small town"... has anyone used amsoil diesel??? in a pinch i just put in lucas 20-50 and i think it sucks, poor shifting and a little noisy.. also i do have cat pipes off a 2009 roadking any problems with the diesel oil there. any input would be appreciated. 2005 rsv baby
OutKast Posted August 26, 2009 Share #2 Posted August 26, 2009 rotella syn comes only in 5w-40, in a blue jug. Have used it for 20,000 miles. rotello 15w-40 is NOT syn and comes in a white jug. Have used it in an Intruder for 15,000 miles.
stardbog Posted August 26, 2009 Share #3 Posted August 26, 2009 Be aware of 2009 RK muffler, dont know where is year break, but new RK have catalytic mufflers If not drilled out can clog. somebody will chime in, with better explanation. Another question is Why you are using AMSOIL diesel engine oil, Amsoil made very good motorcycle specific oil. Good Luck

I like to run bike every 1 week in winter Nov - Apr (6 !@#$%^&* months) and the 5w is a blessing then.
