Eck Posted August 26, 2009 #4 Posted August 26, 2009 I had heard of that.....but never seen pics! Just goes to show the ruggedness of the GW...a good bike! HEY ECK!!!! I HAVE A GOOD IDEA FOR YOUR GW......A GOOD PART TIME JOB!!! I'ld be willing to be the Venture could pull a car also.. , but a burgman.....not so sure.. And besides, I am not looking for a part time job..(not yet anyway......)
BurgyMon Posted August 26, 2009 #5 Posted August 26, 2009 I'ld be willing to be the Venture could pull a car also.. , but a burgman.....not so sure.. And besides, I am not looking for a part time job..(not yet anyway......) Ohhhh that's low!!!!!
Eck Posted August 26, 2009 #6 Posted August 26, 2009 I saw this about a year ago........it caught my attention, but truthfully, the RSV would be able to pull a car also, but it sure would be hard on the clutch and brakes.. I would never tow a car with a motorcycle anyway. Its bad enough trying to stop when some jerk pulls out in front of you and I cant imagine stopping in time with a car pushing me down the road.. The Burgman would get better gas mile though....if it could get moving..
ablumny Posted August 26, 2009 #7 Posted August 26, 2009 Im guessing there's no way your going to back that rig up with the Goldwings reverse system so I assume they never put themselves in a position to need to do so!
BuddyRich Posted August 26, 2009 #8 Posted August 26, 2009 Stopping fast with a car on the back is gonna be a WHOLE LOTA FUN.
Flyinfool Posted August 27, 2009 #9 Posted August 27, 2009 I would think that it would be easy to have electric brakes on the car carier just like cages use with a heavy trailer. That would certainally help the stopping.
Tombo Posted August 27, 2009 #10 Posted August 27, 2009 Sort of a role reversal from the old Harley service cars of the '50s.
wes0778 Posted August 27, 2009 Author #11 Posted August 27, 2009 I would think that it would be easy to have electric brakes on the car carier just like cages use with a heavy trailer. That would certainally help the stopping. OR a sliding hitch that compresses a hydraulic master cylinder to activate the hydraulic brakes on the trailer wheels. We have several heavy trailers so equipped, from where I (semi) retired.
Jus Monkeyin Around Posted August 27, 2009 #12 Posted August 27, 2009 The you tube video said it had hydraulic brakes on it so stopping would not be a problem.
BurgyMon Posted August 27, 2009 #13 Posted August 27, 2009 ............................. The Burgman would get better gas mile though....if it could get moving.. Just keep it up Eckster Dude, just keep kicking .
