I like that one a LOT. Simple and yet artistic with the American flag inside the maple leaf showing the main location of Canada as top posting. Ya done good. Ride safe and God Bless. Mike

Here's one with a little more "Canadian" flavour.

After posting it I see I cut off the word Ontario after Kitchener, but it would be there.

think I'd put the pic dead center, make the patch ob-long like our VR patch, put 2nd Annual VentureRider Rally on left with date, and put the city, state and country on the right with VentureRider.org underneath the picture. All I can do is suggest as I don't know the first thing about doing the fancy work.

How about incorporating a pair of crossed CDN and U.S. flags into the design. Maybe over the picture of the Ontario map or a Venture bike. I don't know how to draw it but here's something I found as an idea.

... what I have to say.

 

After sitting here for almost a week, debating whether to say it or not, I've decided to say it.

 

As much as I like the design by steyr1488, and I applaud him and everyone else who has put some thought into coming up with a design, I can't support a design that defaces the national flag.

 

We wouldn't think of changing the Stars & Stripes, and I don't think we should be messing with the Maple Leaf either.

 

That being said, my artistic side stayed in my mother's womb, so I can't really offer a suggestion on an alternative - other than echoing Gary N's suggestion that we somehow get both flags into the picture.

I like this one! Great idea, definitely in the right direction! Another idea I was thinking you could take GrayGhost's idea and put the USA stripes/stars etc as the filler content of the maple leaf instead of red, and keep the words. Just another idea.

O.K. PEOPLE...this thread has fallen asleep and needs more input!! I think we need to set a cut-off date for this contest.

Let's say the end of October for submissions for this contest. We will then post a poll to decide the winner so that we can move forward with shirt and patch issues.

After reading BluesLover's post, I see his point. Didn't really think of the concept of keeping the flags as they are until he said something. I really like Reiny's concept with the flags as they are. Or perhaps a ring of smaller flags representing all of the countries that have members here (if that's even possible)

As for me...I can't even draw a circle so don't look here for any submissions.
