Marcarl Posted August 25, 2009 #1 Posted August 25, 2009 (edited) Planning an all day ride from Mono Mills to Kitchener. We'll start at 9 am in Mono Mills, visit Thornbury at the far North and end at the Pioneer BBQ for dinner. I haven't got all the kinks out of the plan yet, but that is the basic idea. The country is picturesque, and the roads are great. If the suns shines we'll ride, if it rains, maybe we'll just join Swifty at the Pioneer for dinner. I'll post this on the calendar as well, so that we can get a count on numbers. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=146&day=2009-9-7&c=1 Edited August 25, 2009 by Marcarl
Wizard765 Posted August 25, 2009 #2 Posted August 25, 2009 This sounds like a great day... good roads.. good folks and Great food.. Pioneer BBQ is one of my faves... Hopefully the weather will co-operate... Robin and I are up for this one... Wayne

Evan Posted August 26, 2009 #5 Posted August 26, 2009 Dang it - I love to ride with you all and we would be there for sure if it wasn't for the holliday weekend date. Like others I suspect, Anne and I have long had plans for that weekend that I don't think we can break.
Guest ReinyRooster Posted August 26, 2009 #6 Posted August 26, 2009 Can't promise yet but it sounds like a definite maybe....
E-Fishin-C Posted August 26, 2009 #7 Posted August 26, 2009 I see that Thornbury also was hit by a Tornado
Marcarl Posted August 28, 2009 Author #8 Posted August 28, 2009 Got a file on the proposed trip, if you want it, shoot me a PM.
chabicheka Posted August 28, 2009 #9 Posted August 28, 2009 a file??... is it any good for people that don't have a gps? if i know the route and can meet you guys somewhere, i wouldn't mind joining you guys somewhere along the route. would you have approximate times too, at different locations? thanks.
Marcarl Posted August 28, 2009 Author #10 Posted August 28, 2009 a file??... is it any good for people that don't have a gps? if i know the route and can meet you guys somewhere, i wouldn't mind joining you guys somewhere along the route. would you have approximate times too, at different locations? thanks. We plan to start from Mono Mills at 9 am. Then travel up Airport Road to Hockely Valley Road, take it to #10, north to some river road, back to Airport Road, west on CR21 to #24, north to Pretty River Valley, Thornbury and then make our way back down Beaver Valley Road to the Pioneer BBQ in Kitchener
Wizard765 Posted September 1, 2009 #11 Posted September 1, 2009 Hey Carl: I'd like to see that route.. could you send it to me? Wayne
Joopster55 Posted September 2, 2009 #12 Posted September 2, 2009 We'll be there. Wayne, maybe we can meet you & Robin at your place and ride up with you. Jopie...
Wizard765 Posted September 3, 2009 #13 Posted September 3, 2009 Jopie: That is an AWSOME idea!! We will be leaving our house at 7 am and will have a few bikes with us... Gonna be a GRRRRRRREAT Day!!! Really looking forward to seeing you guys again and finally getting to ride with you. I take it you are feeling somewhat better... Wayne
Guest ReinyRooster Posted September 3, 2009 #14 Posted September 3, 2009 Carl, sadly I will have to pass on this ride. Erika's grandmother is in the hospital and not expected to make it more then a few days, so I should stay close to home. Enjoy, and ride safely!
Wizard765 Posted September 5, 2009 #15 Posted September 5, 2009 an excited BUMP.... looking forward to this ride.. come and join us...
saddlebum Posted September 6, 2009 #16 Posted September 6, 2009 Might make it yet. Seems my departure for Highland IL ( which is close to St Louis) may be delayed a few days. If so I may just be able to sneak in one more ride before I head off for the midwest
chabicheka Posted September 7, 2009 #17 Posted September 7, 2009 what's the meeting point at mono mills? is that just south of hwy 9? so where is everyone meeting? if i dont show up by 9 am, do not wait. will be a good enough ride for me up to mono mills. will check here again before i leave. planning on leaving toronto around 7.30 am, but have to know the meeting point. hopefully someone will reply. thanks. abdul.
Wizard765 Posted September 7, 2009 #18 Posted September 7, 2009 The meeting place is the Tim Hortons in mono mills. That is Airport Rd. and Hwy 9 just east of Orangeville.
