jeff2053 Posted August 22, 2009 #1 Posted August 22, 2009 Does anybody make a shift indicator as an add on for an 07 rsv and if so has anyone installed and used it?
Seaking Posted August 22, 2009 #2 Posted August 22, 2009 Does anybody make a shift indicator as an add on for an 07 rsv and if so has anyone installed and used it? You mean to tell you which gear you're in, apart from Neutral? Without sounding bad about it, why would you need such a thing? Just curious.. Cheers
Twenty7Delta Posted August 22, 2009 #3 Posted August 22, 2009 I just rev it until the rev limiter kicks in and then shift. Trouble is you're way over the speed limit when you go to third.
sgripp Posted August 22, 2009 #4 Posted August 22, 2009 Had one on my FJR 1300. Was nice to know. Miss it on the RSV
Freebird Posted August 22, 2009 #5 Posted August 22, 2009 I did a Google search for Motorcycle Gear Indicator and found several manufacturers but nothing specific for the RSV. Don't know if any of them would work or not. Sorry.

1 - UP Posted August 23, 2009 #7 Posted August 23, 2009 Does anybody make a shift indicator as an add on for an 07 rsv and if so has anyone installed and used it? While at Vogel,I asked SteveW to look into this, maybe he will come up with something. Ken:)
SteveW Posted August 23, 2009 #8 Posted August 23, 2009 I have some ideas for this winter ( maybe a new product for the center of the tank)
bamico Posted August 24, 2009 #9 Posted August 24, 2009 Not sure if this helps at all, and you very well may already know this, but you can use the cruise control to give you some info... If you turn the main cruise on, the ready indidator lights will go on on your right panel when you shift into 4th. And of course your OD indicator goes on when your in 5th. So... that gives you 4 & 5. I know once in a while I like to know if I'm in 3rd or 4th, so I don't shift into OD. Hope it helps. I have looked around a bit, but haven't found anything. Bob
Condor Posted August 24, 2009 #10 Posted August 24, 2009 I found this on another board where they are doing a group buy. The company might be interested in making a RSV specific if there's enough interest??? http://calsportbike.com/gipro-ds/

If reasonable, I'd get into one.. it would match my mini-tach I have for the RSV.. kewl
Condor Posted August 24, 2009 #12 Posted August 24, 2009 Any idea on the price factor? If reasonable, I'd get into one.. it would match my mini-tach I have for the RSV.. kewl Here's the link to http://www.gi-pro.net/ It looks like they're fairly pricey for what they are. The 'other' board has them for about $20 bucks less and from what I can gather they are actually a distributor... or at least working themselves in that direction. There is nothing for a RSV but maybe they're just not aware of the potential market??
loehring Posted August 24, 2009 #13 Posted August 24, 2009 On the manufacturer's website they have a compatibility chart that shows the GIpro X-Type as the one that will fit the Royal Star line. They're price is $132/USD. Nice product but a little pricey for the application for me. http://www.healtech-electronics.com/
