We're about to head off on another day ride here in MN. 300 miles of roads north of the Twin Cities. We'll be doing a lap around Lake Mille Lacs up in the Brainerd area.

Google Map of the route.

Today's weather is sunny and 59 degrees and they claim it could get up into the lower 70's. PERFECT riding weather!!!

Sounds like a nice ride. I took a day off last Tuesday and went up to Duluth, over to Bayfield, WI and then to Hayward and Trego and then on some country roads straight west to Wi 35 and then down to Grantsburg and over to I-35 and back to Bloomington, MN.

Was about 500 miles and was a great day for a ride. Very little traffic and weather was great. I had hoped to head up into the Iron Range but when I got to Duluth it was looking like rain to the north so I headed east along the south shore of Lake Superior.

Hope you had a great ride.

Hey Rick,

If you're still looking for a ride on the range, my sources tell me that the weekend of Sep 4-7, will be a fantastic time to ride north and west. Say up around Kabekona Corner.....

I hear the pigs get kind of scared around there that time of year. Good riding country that's for sure.

....sheesh - I just contributed to the hijacking of my own thread!

BTW: Our ride in the lakes region was a nice ride. Cool weather and cool breezes. The roads were in good condition and made for great riding. I shot video from my action cam on my handle bars. Some of the video is interesting. I'll work on getting that processed and uploaded somewhere. That reminds me, I still have video from last years Pork in the Pines to process.

Wish I could make it up that way. But the wife invited her side of the family to stay here that weekend and for some reason thinks I need to be here too. One of these years I am going to make it up to the PNP.

You doing much riding Owl?

Rick
