What is your all time favorite Detective Show?

Last night on chat, Bj66 and I were discussing our favorite TV show of the past or present. Many names I had forgotten came to mind.

I was wondering what are some of your favorite detective shows?

I really liked Columbo, because it was also funny and Peter Falk was pretty quirky.

NYPD Blue.......Sipowicz was my hero, followed by Law and Order SVU. Detective Benson can arrest me anytime! Now im hung up on NCIS. Abby and Ziva..woohoo........

I HAVE to agree with Ruffy, I also loved NYPD Blue....I am originally from NY and I am currently (for just a few more years) a cop down here in Florida this show also brought some insight from both sides. Besides, like he said Sipowicz was just a real down to earth cop.

I liked watching Buddy Ebsen as Barnaby Jones. Was kool to see him do something different than Jed. Rockford was good and Dragnet was a blast,it was so over the top.LOL! Damn punk kids! All hopped up on goof balls! ...Good stuff.

I'd like to think Benny Hill (British Guy) was a detective show (he always found trouble) and seen lots of police uniforms with garters and other unmentionables. LOL
