Yama Mama Posted August 22, 2009 #1 Posted August 22, 2009 Last night on chat, Bj66 and I were discussing our favorite TV show of the past or present. Many names I had forgotten came to mind. I was wondering what are some of your favorite detective shows? I really liked Columbo, because it was also funny and Peter Falk was pretty quirky. Yama Mama
Sylvester Posted August 22, 2009 #2 Posted August 22, 2009 I always like Dragnet and 77 Sunset Strip.
bendtdj Posted August 22, 2009 #4 Posted August 22, 2009 My favorite classic is "Ellery Queen" Current show would be NCIS I get a big kick from Ducky and Abby.
GuthDaddy17 Posted August 22, 2009 #5 Posted August 22, 2009 "The Fugitive" if that counts as a detective show...
Guest HdHtr Posted August 22, 2009 #6 Posted August 22, 2009 Barney Miller and after that, Hill Street Blues.
1BigDog Posted August 22, 2009 #7 Posted August 22, 2009 NYPD Blue.......Sipowicz was my hero, followed by Law and Order SVU. Detective Benson can arrest me anytime! Now im hung up on NCIS. Abby and Ziva..woohoo........
Naked Rider Posted August 22, 2009 #8 Posted August 22, 2009 i liked Rockford files and Hart to Hart now all of the CSI
wasabe58 Posted August 22, 2009 #9 Posted August 22, 2009 I HAVE to agree with Ruffy, I also loved NYPD Blue....I am originally from NY and I am currently (for just a few more years) a cop down here in Florida this show also brought some insight from both sides. Besides, like he said Sipowicz was just a real down to earth cop.
wdneff Posted August 22, 2009 #10 Posted August 22, 2009 Hill street Blues is still the best there was (Let's be careful out there)
ddoggma Posted August 22, 2009 #11 Posted August 22, 2009 I liked watching Buddy Ebsen as Barnaby Jones. Was kool to see him do something different than Jed. Rockford was good and Dragnet was a blast,it was so over the top.LOL! Damn punk kids! All hopped up on goof balls! ...Good stuff.
1BigDog Posted August 22, 2009 #12 Posted August 22, 2009 I HAVE to agree with Ruffy, I also loved NYPD Blue....I am originally from NY and I am currently (for just a few more years) a cop down here in Florida this show also brought some insight from both sides. Besides, like he said Sipowicz was just a real down to earth cop. Could be because im from NYC too.....
DonWood Posted August 22, 2009 #13 Posted August 22, 2009 Hi All - Well I guess I will have to admit how old I am and say The Shadow Don Wood
Squeeze Posted August 22, 2009 #14 Posted August 22, 2009 Not exactly a Detective Show, but JAG is near the Genre, and i'm sold on the Spin-off NCIS too ... But nothing beats Jean-Luc Picard ...
Billet Posted August 22, 2009 #17 Posted August 22, 2009 It's gotta be Streets of San francisco! Carl Malden:179:

hig4s Posted August 23, 2009 #23 Posted August 23, 2009 Columbo is right up there, but I have to say Monk.
KarlS Posted August 23, 2009 #24 Posted August 23, 2009 Ellery Queen and Rockford Files. Just do not care for any of the newer ones.
frogmaster Posted August 23, 2009 #25 Posted August 23, 2009 I'd like to think Benny Hill (British Guy) was a detective show (he always found trouble) and seen lots of police uniforms with garters and other unmentionables. LOL
