Maybe someone else has other ideas but have you looked at the motorkote?
RedRider Posted August 19, 2009 #3 Posted August 19, 2009 I usually use 80/90, but you might want to check your owners manual for the recommended oil for your Kawa. RR
RandyR Posted August 19, 2009 #4 Posted August 19, 2009 I've been using Yamaha gear oil in my RSTD. That said, someone in another thread said he was putting a small dab of Honda moly60 in their rear gear oil each time he changed the oil. Sounds like a good idea, and I've started doing that too. I see Mobil-1 makes a rear gear oil. I expect its top of the line stuff.
starrider60 Posted August 19, 2009 #5 Posted August 19, 2009 I went to the Honda dealer and bought a tube of moly60 - 3 oz for $10. Had the maniac dab it on the splines of the drive shaft and on the pins of the pumpkin. No more moise from the rearend. Cheap insurance.
