pgzehnercomcast.net Posted August 17, 2009 #1 Posted August 17, 2009 What wireing will in need to patch my intercom headset to the Zumo. I have looked at some units on line but i'm not sure whats what.
Hummingbird Posted August 17, 2009 #2 Posted August 17, 2009 I have a my 550 plugged into the mp3 plug on the dash beside the cassette player and the radio control in the aux mode.
SteveP Posted August 17, 2009 #3 Posted August 17, 2009 You need a standard stereo patch cable (male-male) for the audio out from Zumo to bike. You can plug this into the AUX input on the dash next to the tape deck or you can get a splitter and plug it in inside the fairing -- nice clean, hidden look. For audio in to the Zumo (only needed if you're going to use the Bluetooth feature and talk on your cell phone through the Zumo), get one of BuddyRich's cables. He's a member here and has teh cable all made up to just plug it into the Zumo and plug the other ends in line with the bike's wiring system. This cable plugs in inside the front fairing, too.
SteveP Posted August 17, 2009 #4 Posted August 17, 2009 (edited) Here's the [ame=http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=494]article[/ame] for splitting the front fairing to access everything inside there. And this [ame=http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=3905]article[/ame] shows the sepcifics of the AUX cable splitter. Finnaly, see Post #10 of this [ame=http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=14220]thread[/ame] for where to plug the BuddyRich cable. Good luck with the project!
