Snarley Bill Posted September 20, 2007 #1 Posted September 20, 2007 just recieved a pm from one of the members that attended eureka springs and he talked to cindy at the eidelweiss inn.she is going to block out the backside of the motel for us next year so we can all be together.she will start taking reservations in jan. or feb.of 2008.the back side has a large deck with umbrella tables overlooking a beautiful wooded and grass area where we watched a family of deer graze every night.very biker friendly.they even furnished clean towels to wipe your bike down.totally surrounded with good eating places within walking distance.and a very clean motel.i will start posting the meet after the first of the year.it will be in sept. again after labor day.dates coming soon. bill ps. we will have t-shirts and patches next year.
rosebud Posted September 20, 2007 #2 Posted September 20, 2007 Bill, Just as long as I don't have a conversion and NEWTrk's not on call that week, we should be able to make Eureka Springs in 08. Sure wanted to ride over last weekend, but just couldn't do it because of work getting in the way of life.
buddy Posted September 20, 2007 #3 Posted September 20, 2007 Count on Me & Peg being there for sure, but this time we will be coming sooner so we can hang out more with everybody. buddy

Ky. Rider Posted September 21, 2007 #10 Posted September 21, 2007 Bill, thanks for setting this up. I am going to try my best to make it next year, good Lord willing. It looks like beautiful riding from the posted pictures and I know I'll meet a group of good people and fellow RSV riders. I'm putting it on my calendar as a priority. Maybe the farm will turn me lose for a few days.

Guest Dandy1 Posted September 21, 2007 #12 Posted September 21, 2007 Looking forward to it already! We want to do that same ride again and may come over on Thursday to get an extra day of riding in. That was one great ride you lead us on! Danny & Cyndi
Guest Popeye Posted September 21, 2007 #13 Posted September 21, 2007 .....except for that little rain cloud saturday. We left on Saturday morning & that little rain cloud soaked us to the bone & we had to hole up in Carthage, MO. That rain continued along our route to ES, so we made the right decision. Unlike most motels, the Edelweiss Inn doesn't accept cancellations. Cindy told us no refunds & we were just out of luck unless someone else happened to rent the room. Wife said she even spoke in a very unpleasant voice, while explaining their no cancellations policy. Quite different from the FRIENDLY voice that took our Mastercard number. The good news is, there are many 'just-as-good', or better, motels that are more biker-friendly & understanding of heavy rains + allow cancellations. It was only a one night gamble for us. On Sunday morning, we saw a lot of Ventures riding out of ES, as we rode in, well after the big breakfast we missed. We met a few members [who were leaving], took in the sites, strolled the old shops, rode the trolley, & went home that afternoon. We'll try it again next year, but we'll be at a friendlier motel that allows cancellations.......in case it rains buckets for that week, scoot breaks down, work, family emergency, etc. No shortage of friendlier motels in Eureka Springs. We checked. Some are even 'bikes-only', some have 'covered parking', etc. Now, we know to check the "Cancellation Policy" before making a reservation. Especially, when the reservation is months away & multiple days. All 'reputable' motels allow a 24 hour cancellation policy, because 'STUFF HAPPENS'. Caveat Emptor

Caveat Emptor sorry you had such bad luck with the weather.yes there are plenty of motels in the area.you may choose which ever one you wish.i don't think anyone that was with our group had a problem with the eidelwiess inn.if anyone does please let me know.i think everyone that was there had a great time.when you put a meet on like this, and i have put on several on this group and also the cushman group where i rented a whole fairgrounds two years in a row,it is hard to get everything perfect.mostly on the short time i had to do it. i get a big thrill out of seeing people have fun and do the best i can to make it happen.again i am sorry if i created an inconvenience for you.and also sorry we missed you.i hope you don't hold this against me.i do the best i can to make my meets a success.bill:2133:
