loadmaster Posted August 16, 2009 #1 Posted August 16, 2009 changed my plugs today, ive had this bike about a month, didnt ask the po about last plug change, my question is ,is it possible for these plugs to look this good, when ive only put on about 700 miles. the lower left plug is the only one discolored, the upper left is in shadow, so looks discolored, been getting 28mpg local, and 40mpg over the road. thanks for looking
juggler Posted August 16, 2009 #2 Posted August 16, 2009 3 out of 4 ain't bad. It is possible those would be that good looking after many many miles. I'd watch that one cylinder though. Every thousand miles or so pull the plug and see if it's fowling up.
MasterGuns Posted August 17, 2009 #4 Posted August 17, 2009 3 is perfect; 1 is close, and 2/4 too hot. I agree with timgray, the carbs are out of sync.
camos Posted August 17, 2009 #5 Posted August 17, 2009 Looks to me like the left hand ones are good while the right hand ones are not. Light tan is a good colour, white usually means lean. Assuming that is, you are burning gasoline and not alcohol. I haven't come to terms yet with a high percentage of alcohol.
shouldi Posted August 18, 2009 #6 Posted August 18, 2009 a tad rich, but if it runs fine, no real problems, drain the carb bowls, and sync the carbs, go and ride
