buddy Posted August 16, 2009 #3 Posted August 16, 2009 I have the Ride-on in the RSV tires & Trailer tires so far so good but I have not ran over any nails either. Where is your leak at in your tire? if its near or on the side wall, most tire sealants will not work unless its in the tread area..
Eddie Fulmer Posted August 16, 2009 #4 Posted August 16, 2009 You didn't say anything about where the leak is. sidewall, bead, tread. It matters what you use depending on where it is. It also matters what caused the leak in the first place. Was it a nail, screw, or a piece of metal that left a "jagged" entry hole in the tire. More input, more input!!
Gray Ghost Posted August 17, 2009 #5 Posted August 17, 2009 Back in November I was out in Texas and picked something up. Even with Ride on the tire was going flat. Since I was on the road and nowhere near anyplace I could get help, I tried the old fix-a-flat can. I was able to keep going until I got to a town with a dealer, but I don't think it was doing anything the ride-on wasn't doing.
Guest seuadr Posted August 17, 2009 #6 Posted August 17, 2009 make sure you tell your technician that is removing the tire that you put something in it, too. It can make a hell of a mess. Although all the companies i have researched no longer use explosive propellants so at least you don't have to worry about that. that said, i've used slime, fix a flat etc etc and they all seem to be about the same for actual short term repair. if it's long term, and in the tread, i'd sooner plug it, though, IF that is an option. if its in the sidewall, get your walking shoes on, i personally haven't had any luck at all sealing or plugging those.
