SilvrT Posted August 13, 2009 #2 Posted August 13, 2009 (edited) cool! 19/20 on Road Signs 16/20 on Collision Traps (some of those are tricky...) Edited August 13, 2009 by SilvrT
Eck Posted August 13, 2009 #3 Posted August 13, 2009 Well, I now understand why I have been crashing so much this year... Feel like a big dummy... Signs 19/20... Obsticals..16/20 I never knew a WHITE "+" sign means Rail Road... I always thought they were Yellow and Black......... AND...I didnt know that the little red hand sign hanging on the tellephone pole for pedestrians actually tell them how many more seconds they have to get thier fat butt across the raod. I have never looked at one of those little red signs when I am on my bike or in a cage..and I never knew it was required for the driver of any vechile to pay attention to that little 10 inch by 12 inch red sign hanging way over there on that light pole that is no where near the intersection that I am about to go through... no wonder I missed this one. And why is the answer of "merging traffic from the right" any different then "another lane coming up on the right"....?? Heck, The darn traffic in th eright lane will eventually merging into my lane anyway... so yep, I missed that one too.. Got to go back and see if I can do any better this time now that I know how they want to play this game....
Sling Posted August 13, 2009 #4 Posted August 13, 2009 That was interesting. I did them at medium speed.. Signs I got 18/20 Collisions I got 18/20 I tried one test of the signs at fast speed. Well we won't go there. I didn't even get to see some of the signs..
SilvrT Posted August 13, 2009 #5 Posted August 13, 2009 It would be interesting to see the score of a person talking on the cell phone while doing the Collision Traps test !
04Midnight Posted August 14, 2009 #6 Posted August 14, 2009 19/20 and 19/20 On that very last one, there was no mention of the potential danger of "Celine Dion". That sign made me shiver.
BOO Posted August 14, 2009 #7 Posted August 14, 2009 It would be interesting to see the score of a person talking on the cell phone while doing the Collision Traps test ! Zero and Zero BOO
Eck Posted August 14, 2009 #8 Posted August 14, 2009 Zero and Zero BOO You stay in front of me from now on............I'll be hangin back
MasterGuns Posted August 14, 2009 #9 Posted August 14, 2009 Who has a sled that runs on propane? Just what I needed to know.
KiteSquid Posted August 14, 2009 #10 Posted August 14, 2009 Take the tests. Then take them again a few hours or days later as the tests rotate and there are much more than the 20 images per test......... GREAT site!!! I LOVE the MSF!!!!!!
utadventure Posted August 14, 2009 #11 Posted August 14, 2009 Good test. Did it also on medium. 20/20 Signs 18/20 Road Hazards Thanks!
Iowawegian Posted August 14, 2009 #12 Posted August 14, 2009 It's lucky I live in the country..... 10/20 & 14/20 I started hyperventilating just taking the d@#n thing with all that traffic. Did I mention I hate driving my bike in towns larger than a population of oh say.....2,000? No sirreeeeee you can keep that city life. I don't want nothin to do with it. Crowds, traffic and cement......3 things I avoid!
loehring Posted August 14, 2009 #13 Posted August 14, 2009 I like that site. Even if you don't get the right answer you learn something. I thought some of the answers on the Collision Traps could have been "all of the above". Thanks for posting.
magafike Posted January 11, 2010 #14 Posted January 11, 2010 very good site. 19/20 road signs 18/20 collision at slow speed of course!!
Wanderer Posted January 11, 2010 #15 Posted January 11, 2010 19 and 16 respectively. My computer screen is really too small for stuff like the second test. I'm just saying.
Guest seuadr Posted January 11, 2010 #16 Posted January 11, 2010 18 and 16. there were a couple answers i didn't agree with, though. one was a construction zone with a semi comming at you with a narrow lane. there is a construction worker standing there in a bright yellow vest and it said he was the danger.. but he was not moving, and he was a construction worker in a bright yellow vest, not exactly invisible. imho the chance that there may be derbis on the pavement and the semi are both bigger threats than the supposed pedestrian.
dingy Posted January 11, 2010 #17 Posted January 11, 2010 19/20 on signs 16/20 on collisions Why did I get red x'ed on one below? There are two Yield signs. Gary
VegasVic Posted January 11, 2010 #18 Posted January 11, 2010 In case you don't know it, all the road scenes on the Collision Traps Test are in Las Vegas.
Bummer Posted January 11, 2010 #19 Posted January 11, 2010 In case you don't know it, all the road scenes on the Collision Traps Test are in Las Vegas.Which they no doubt chose because of all the motorcycle hazards, and not because of any entertainment that may be available.
hig4s Posted January 12, 2010 #20 Posted January 12, 2010 Who has a sled that runs on propane? Just what I needed to know. I actually got that one right!!!
SilvrT Posted March 11, 2010 #21 Posted March 11, 2010 Just thought I'd give this a bump for all those who are new or haven't seen it.
86er Posted March 12, 2010 #22 Posted March 12, 2010 20/20 and 18/20, but I only remember missing 1. Oh well, I'm getting old!
RideBellChain Posted April 25, 2010 #23 Posted April 25, 2010 That was really great... 18/20 signs, 16/20 situations. Good test, thanks for bumping! Mark http://www.RideBellChain.com
Guest Swifty Posted April 25, 2010 #24 Posted April 25, 2010 20/20 and 18/20, but I only remember missing 1. Oh well, I'm getting old! 19/20...where do you see a stop sign without the word STOP? 18/20...I was watching TV and missed a scene and guessed.
Flyinfool Posted April 25, 2010 #25 Posted April 25, 2010 Following some of their advice WILL get you killed. In the one where the bus is coming into your lane ahead of you they recommend and immediate move to the left lane and not slow down. From the picture there is no way to know if the left lane is clear. A lane change without that knowledge is more risky than slowing down to get a safe following distance. I did 20/20 on the signs but only 15/20 on the traps. I still disagree with a couple of there answers where they are nit picking a potential issue and not even mentioning bigger issues that require immediate action of the rider.
