After two years of non-use, sitting under a low end cycle cover, resting on a shale driveway, my new to me Blue 89 Vr is back in service.

Thanks go to Earl (skydoc) for doing his part to make the bike safe to ride once again.

We started with a small list of work needed and will again add to it in the near future.

Earl replaced both F/R tires, rebuilt rear caliper, changed rear gear oil, lubed the very dry splines, and checked the bike over for state inspection.

Now I need to log some miles on the VR, blow the cob webs out, and get it back to Earl for a carb sync. and other adjustments.

Earl had taken some pics of the progress (my camera took a dump) maybe he will add a few to this post. For the ones here who say "This thread worthless without Pics"

Regards Dave

I am doing my part to keep him busy..more work for him in a couple of weeks or a few hundred miles which ever comes first. I hope by then to have some more money to throw at the VR.

I have been laid off more times than I care to remember. After 28 years with my present employeer I finaly missed the cut, for 18 years I was perched on the bubble just waiting for a pink slip.

A few extra dollars can come in handy..
