DragonRider Posted August 9, 2009 #1 Posted August 9, 2009 I haven't discussed this much, but if someone wants to have their carbs synced at Vogel I have a Morgan CarbTune Pro that is going to be one of the items being raffled off, and being as Sat. is going to be a free day to do as you please (no scheduled rides) it will be available to be used by anyone who wants to do thiers before the drawings, now I do not know how to use it myself, but if someone wants to volunteer to do this on Sat. I will have it at shelter # 3. I will also have a signup list at the registration table for this. I am not certian what time I will be at the shelter but it will be early so there will be plenty of time to get it done before the party starts at 4:00 PM. http://www.carbtune.co.uk/Images/SSL11426thinc.jpg Carbtune Pro Upgraded from the Carbtune II in 2007. The Carbtune Pro has all the advantages of the old Carbtune using the same principles but in a fully injection moulded casing and tubes that make the overall design more consistent.
Eck Posted August 9, 2009 #2 Posted August 9, 2009 if someone wants to volunteer to do this on Sat I'll help with syncing carbs Lewis..... I'll bring my Morgan carb tune so that you dont have to use the one up for a prize
SteveW Posted August 9, 2009 #3 Posted August 9, 2009 Hi Eck I'll give you a hand on Sat. with some I'll bring mine along also. I'll have the camper so we can do them under the awning for some shade.
Sleeperhawk Posted August 9, 2009 #4 Posted August 9, 2009 Hi Eck I'll give you a hand on Sat. with some I'll bring mine along also. I'll have the camper so we can do them under the awning for some shade. I was planning on bringing mine too. We will be meeting Mechanic's Uncle for lunch on Saturday, he lives in the area. I will help with the syncing in the morning.
wes0778 Posted August 9, 2009 #5 Posted August 9, 2009 I'd like to get in line to have mine checked. Also I don't wanna turn this in to a MD , but how much of a PITA is it to check steering head bearing pre-load?
Skid Posted August 9, 2009 #6 Posted August 9, 2009 I thought about bringing mine, but looks like there wll be plenty available...
Yammer Dan Posted August 9, 2009 #7 Posted August 9, 2009 I'd like to get in line to have mine checked. Also I don't wanna turn this in to a MD , but how much of a PITA is it to check steering head bearing pre-load? Take about 30 seconds after you get it on centerstand.
DragonRider Posted August 9, 2009 Author #8 Posted August 9, 2009 Thanks for stepping up guys, I knew I could count on some help in this Dept............
Dragonslayer Posted August 9, 2009 #9 Posted August 9, 2009 Don't you love it when a plan comes together due to the people involved.
Eck Posted August 10, 2009 #11 Posted August 10, 2009 I'd like to get in line to have mine checked. Also I don't wanna turn this in to a MD , but how much of a PITA is it to check steering head bearing pre-load? Wes, You will need to have a jack to get the front tire off the ground, to adjust the bearings. If someone has one I will adjust our bearings for you..
Yammer Dan Posted August 10, 2009 #12 Posted August 10, 2009 Wes, You will need to have a jack to get the front tire off the ground, to adjust the bearings. If someone has one I will adjust our bearings for you.. Or someone to sit on the back seat.
Eck Posted August 10, 2009 #13 Posted August 10, 2009 Or someone to sit on the back seat. if it had a center stand... I think if need be, we can find a cement block or something simular, and with two people (one each side) we can grab front crash bars and carefully pick it up high enough to place on the cement block to adjust the neck bearings... even a small screw jack from a camper and have a couple folks hold the bike while working on it...
SteveW Posted August 10, 2009 #14 Posted August 10, 2009 Since I'm bringing the camper over I'll bring a floor jack with me that should do the trick. Be there wend.
DragonRider Posted August 10, 2009 Author #15 Posted August 10, 2009 Steve, were you planning on bringing your camper over to the shelter to do work under, if so dont worry about that, I have a nice canopy that you can use in the parking lot there so everybody will just have one spot to be for any work being done.........I will be using it Wed at check in. Lewis Since I'm bringing the camper over I'll bring a floor jack with me that should do the trick. Be there wend.
SteveW Posted August 10, 2009 #16 Posted August 10, 2009 I have a spot rented in the camp grounds. I decided it would be more fun to just stay over in the park then ride over the Mtn. every night to go home. I'll be there around 9am to set it up then go back to the house to get the bike.
