Road King Mufflers on a Royal Star Venture

I recently got a pair of Road King mufflers to put on my 2005 RSV, it was a very simple conversion except 1 thing. I need to find a exhaust sheild that will cover where the pipes meet the muffler.

Anyone have any ideas?????

you could cut the heat shields off you're stock pipes and rivet them to you're new ones

Not sure were to get them anymore though.

 

I used them on my change over and they have

been great and look good too!

They are still on ebay. That is where I got mine a few weeks ago when I did this conversion.

They look good and work great.

I did the same conversion to the rk pipes I took the heat sheilds off the stock pipes and pop riveted them back on the rk's look great sound great

If you don't want to possibly re use your stock muffs in the future you can cut the shields off and use them on the RKs or buy a pair of the clamps.

 

I believe there's a how to in the tech section on re using the stock shields.

I have the RK mufflers and I just left them the way they were. I like the look. You do not have to put a shield over it...

No, they vary between models but most are only slightly louder than the stock mufflers.

Just to verify Roadflyer, Harley Davidson "Road King" mufflers, or any touring model muffler Harley as they are all interchangeable. I have Screaming Eagle take-offs from a Road Glide. Ultra Classic, Classic, Street Glide are all the same. Aftermarket pipes from Rush, Vance & Hines, etc. that fit a touring bike will work too but those tend to be louder.

 

I do not believe that Yamaha Road Star mufflers will fit on a Venture.
