DragonRider Posted August 8, 2009 #3 Posted August 8, 2009 Simply fascinating..........!!!!!! This proves that some people have way to much time on their hands and need to get out more.
Marcarl Posted August 8, 2009 #4 Posted August 8, 2009 So where is this place called Texas,, seems there are some people that live there,,,,it just can't be anything like ONTARIO though. Ontario is home, it has four seasons, people come from all over just to be here and say they've been here, and it's got to have the best of everything. I could go on and on, but I have important things to do and I don't want everybody coming here to live, we have enough nuts here already.

Carl, You will always have a place to come in the winter, when you want to ride, and there is a foot of that white #@*% on the ground! That white stuff is called SNOW and if you move to Texas then you'll get homesick for the stuff,,, but don't worry, I hear our government is arranging with the US government to keep more of it south of the border, some about fair trade, and global equalization.
Yammer Dan Posted August 8, 2009 #9 Posted August 8, 2009 and, Texas is the only state that has the right to sucede from the rest of the states and some day may. can't wait. Venturous Randy Posted August 9, 2009 #14 Posted August 9, 2009 My only time in Texas was Basic Training in the USAF. I did go to the Alamo and when I walked in, on the wall was a picture of Davey Crockett's birthplace, which was only a few miles from my home. Boy, that made me homesick. Talking about distance, I live in north east Tennessee and I am closer to Canada than Memphis. RandyA
Dave77459 Posted August 10, 2009 #15 Posted August 10, 2009 I found it interesting that when I was in El Paso, I was closer to San Diego than I was to home in Houston. My son is going to a college that is a 12 hour drive from home, and still in Texas. I've heard it both ways that Texas can secede, especially since a congressman recently suggested it. What really isn't in doubt is that Texas can split into 5 smaller states, which would give her 10 US Senators and the same number of representatives. (California can split into 3 smaller states.) MasterGuns Posted August 10, 2009 #16 Posted August 10, 2009 But who would MISS IT??? West Virginia suceded in 1864!!! West Virginia didn't have a constitutional right to sucede; that is why it's still a state. Big, big difference.
SilvrT Posted August 10, 2009 #17 Posted August 10, 2009 interesting facts about Texas . 5. The Flagship Hotel in Galveston is the only hotel in North America built over water. Not exactly true (assuming this qualifies as being "built over water") King Pacific Lodge, British Columbia, Canada Built atop a floating barge, King Pacific Lodge enables guests to experience pristine wilderness without sacrificing five-star comfort. The hotel is accessed via a floatplane, and is towed in to Princess Royal Island from May to October.
Yammer Dan Posted August 10, 2009 #18 Posted August 10, 2009 West Virginia didn't have a constitutional right to sucede; that is why it's still a state. Big, big difference. Wasn't a State. And we sucuded form Virginia and became our own state!!
