1 - UP Posted August 4, 2009 #1 Posted August 4, 2009 My trip to Indiana June and July, '09. Took my bike up to Dan's Cycle in Seymoure, IN and had it FIXED. It now runs like new. Gary at Dan's said that one cylender in front and one in back were not timed right. Also that two valves were not seating right and that they could have been damage. All that was taken care of. And he got Yamaha to take care of those problems even though it was out of warrenty. He blamed it on the work done under warrenty. Thanks Yamaha. While there I went on several rides with the owner of Dan's Yamaha, and his son Gary. I have tried to down load a picture of what the tirke looks like now. who know how it will turn out. I rode over a thousand miles in 4 Sundays while up there. They sure know how to treat a misplaced Yankie! Being down here in Florida I forgot how nice it was to have hills to ride up and down. And they have trees too with real leaves. Not all these so called trees with needles on them. Hope to see you all at the "Tail" Ken
1BigDog Posted August 4, 2009 #2 Posted August 4, 2009 Ken, glad you found a dealer that was able to fix your bike....too bad you had to go up north to find one. Sounds like you had a good trip too........and whats wrong with needley trees??? Stay up there one winter and see just how those needley trees look then.....
DragonRider Posted August 5, 2009 #3 Posted August 5, 2009 You talked to Jerry lately, we need to get him down to the Dragon if only to make the ride on Friday with us............I dont know if he has ever ridden it.............I am gonna call tomorrow and see if I can get him to come.............maybe you can prod him along too.
1 - UP Posted August 5, 2009 Author #4 Posted August 5, 2009 Ruffy, it was a shame that I had to go that far to get my bike fixed, but I'm sure glad I did. I feel good about riding again. Lewis, believe me I tried. It's hard to pry him away from all those grandkids. Go ahead and try. I know that they got a lot of rain a couple of days ago and he said that he had water standing where there has never been water before. I did get him to ride on those sundays that I rode with Gary from Dan's Cycle. Here are some more pictures of my Indiana trip. Ken
Guest wrench Posted August 5, 2009 #5 Posted August 5, 2009 Ken, looks like you were in the midst of my favorite riding area around here. Doe Run Inn has some good home cooking too, doesn't it!! Wish I'd known you were there, it's only about 20 min. from me and I would've bought your lunch. Did you get a chance to ride hwy 66 down along the Ohio just West of Corydon? A bunch of us from work rode up to the Brown County Inn at Nashville a couple of years ago, and that is a nice ride w/good eats too. Like Ruffy said though, the last year has been rough in the weather dept., started with the wind storm last Sept, ice storm in Jan., and flooding in Southern Ind./Louisville yesterday. Makes at least a few months a year in Fla. look pretty good to me! Drop me a note if you're up here again, be nice to ride with you.

I'm hoping to be back in Indiana the last week in Sept and the first week of Oct training dogs. But, that's not a sure thing yet. If I go I'll bring my trike back up. I'd like to ride the countryside and see the change in the trees. And yes, Doe Run Inn had some very nice home cooked food. I would advise anybody that rides in that area to visit that place. We rode down from Indianapolis to Seymoure then took 135 down into Kentucky to the Inn and then on to Fort Knox. I don't know the road that we took east, but we ended up just south of Madison, IN. Very nice roads, had a great time. The trip ended up to be 350 miles. Ken
Guest wrench Posted August 5, 2009 #7 Posted August 5, 2009 Wow, you just missed me by that much! I can see the control tower lights at the airfield at Ft. Knox from my house. I'll be around when you are back up here, gimme a yell and we'll get out and ride. That's usually a good time of year to ride around here. The Bardstown/Nelson County area is cool too, it's the birthplace of Ky. bourbon and the Jim Beam outpost/distillery is only about 30 minutes away. That's a cool tour if you've never seen the process. Richard.

I do like to see historical places. Ken
Sideoftheroad Posted August 5, 2009 #9 Posted August 5, 2009 See you went down Hanging Rock Hill in Madison (where I grew up). To travel that far to have a bike fixed. Now that is faith in a dealer. Dan Cycle Sales at least in the past has handled the merchandise for a major bike event called Miracle Ride. Also have heard good things about them. Glad they were able to get you up and running again.

Glad they were able to get you up and running again. Dan's Cycle Sales was the one who did the Trike kit on my bike in 08. I'm from Indy, been down in Florida the last 19 years. When they heard that I was having trouble with my engine and the way it was "fixed" down here they offered to take a look at it when I was up there. They did a great job fixing it and puting the power back to normal. I would recomend them to anybody. I use to go to Madison all the time to watch the boat races. Matter of fact I was there over the 4th of July to watch the races. These pictures should bring back some memories. Ken:thumbsup2:
