i bought a new jack at harbor fright last week end and just got enough guts to try it out , it raises the bike up 30 in. i am going to build 2 boxes to set the bike on when i need to get to both sides . the cost was 159.00 and is rated for 1100 lbs.

now if the weather will just cool down enough to work on it !

Thom,

I'd be really interested in seeing close-up images of where it crosses under the scoot.

I'd hate to think how much torque force that 800# bike is applying to the base and arm right angles.... What is that lift rated for anyway???

That lift is rated for 1100 pounds. I'd be keeping an eye on the collector. The tubes are pretty thin and prone to cracking. That's a lot of stress on it.

Looks like a nice 'lift'...but I'm not sure I'd be using it for a workstand.

Be careful.
