Thom Posted August 2, 2009 #1 Posted August 2, 2009 i bought a new jack at harbor fright last week end and just got enough guts to try it out , it raises the bike up 30 in. i am going to build 2 boxes to set the bike on when i need to get to both sides . the cost was 159.00 and is rated for 1100 lbs. now if the weather will just cool down enough to work on it ! Thom
Wanderer Posted August 2, 2009 #2 Posted August 2, 2009 Looks good. I wouldn't nap under it. I like that better than the one I have (also from HF).
Kregerdoodle Posted August 2, 2009 #3 Posted August 2, 2009 Looks great, I have seen them, but first time to see one being used.... turn a fan on and get out there and work on that beast!!

Thom Thom, I'd be really interested in seeing close-up images of where it crosses under the scoot.

Kregerdoodle Posted August 2, 2009 #7 Posted August 2, 2009 very cool, oh ya...the lites look good also!! I just went for a short ride to the store.... you could drink the air around here today.... think I`ll stay in the ac the rest of the day..
Condor Posted August 2, 2009 #8 Posted August 2, 2009 ok , see if these will work ? plus i got to show off the new lites i installed on the truck , they are brake and turn lites Thom I'd hate to think how much torque force that 800# bike is applying to the base and arm right angles.... What is that lift rated for anyway???
elag Posted August 2, 2009 #9 Posted August 2, 2009 I'd hate to think how much torque force that 800# bike is applying to the base and arm right angles.... What is that lift rated for anyway??? That lift is rated for 1100 pounds. I'd be keeping an eye on the collector. The tubes are pretty thin and prone to cracking. That's a lot of stress on it.
Guest tx2sturgis Posted August 2, 2009 #10 Posted August 2, 2009 Looks like a nice 'lift'...but I'm not sure I'd be using it for a workstand. Be careful.
Yammer Dan Posted August 3, 2009 #11 Posted August 3, 2009 Maybe a way to put some Jack Stands under there when you get it up?? Just in Case!!!
