venture101 Posted July 31, 2009 #1 Posted July 31, 2009 Does anyone have the single shift lever? I have the stock toe/heel lever but never use the heel end. I caught my rain pants on the heel end the other day and almost dumped. If anyone has a single and wants to change back to the toe/heel, I would be interested in a trade. Otherwise I will probably just cut off the heel end. BTW, this is for a 07 RSV. Also would be interested in a fuel cap cover and a cover for the rear of the fuel tank.
RedRider Posted July 31, 2009 #2 Posted July 31, 2009 Just an FYI while you are messing with the shifter. Take out the bolt that hold the shifter and put some blue loctite on it. They have a tendency to loosen and fall off. RR
pegscraper Posted July 31, 2009 #3 Posted July 31, 2009 I cut the back of the shift lever off of mine. I couldn't get used to the thing, so I finally gave up trying to. It was nothing but in my way. I like how much foot room there is without it. I frequently ride with my feet farther back anyway, more underneath me. I couldn't do that before. Put a little clear paint on the cut off end to help keep it from rusting.

I'm soon to be doing that and will take it to a powder coat shop this winter to seal it up.. I caught my pant leg on the rear part and almost dumped the bike.. grrr.. And as one lad suggested, blue loktite the bolt.. I lost mine but a kind Hyundai dealership was able to fix me up with nice bolts.. Very unique looking and it will never fall out =)
