If you recall earlier posts I totaled a 87 VR just over a year ago.

Troubled myself over what to buy as a replacement, which ended up being a 09 red hot sunglo Harley Ultra Classic. I am enjoying the bike and have logged 2600 miles since June 9th.

But I missed the last VR gathering!

So, guess what followed my home this past week? :mytruck1: A new to me 89 Blue Venture Royale with 38,000 miles. Needs some cleaning, adjusting, and of course a little help from my friends.

That being said, I'm back! Hope to see ya on the road.....

Regards Dave

Just can't get away... Those 89's are one of the best looking ones and they had most of the bugs out by then. Shame they didn't leave orginal 1200 in there. But it a 1st GEN!!!!

WELCOME BACK!!!

Hey Brad, you get that bike out on the road yet? I might be willing to let go of my CB if you want it. Not sure I want to mount that one on the bike and lose my right fairing pocket........ Might go aftermarket.

Yeah I did Dan, rode it yesterday for about 5 hours. I dont need the CB, those are the old pics before Dave Pankow finished cleaning the button on the CB and before I installed the new windshield. I think your idea to go aftermarket is a good one, too much BS to try and hook into the factory wiring for the PTT button and whatnot. I saw a compact CB at Radio Shack the other day that looked just the right size for the bike.

That thing looks pretty good Squid.

Do you loan Lonna out???:think::rotfl::rotfl::confused24:

It cleaned up well, definitely not like it was when I bought it

:whistling:

As far as Lonna goes, she'll cost you, she's an awsome detailer, but she's not cheap :no-no-no:

I am headed down right now to pick one of those up, will let you know how it works out! Should be able to install it this PM for the trip! Now youse guys won't be able to talk about me in MI this year! I think I can hook it into stereo, Jeff sent me some schematics earlier this year on how to do it.

They also have a nice remote mount unit, but its internet only.
